“I really didn’t feel like I was choosing between two jobs,” Stolzoff said. But at the time, he also realized he was hoping to find his “vocational soulmate,” a job that would decide his identity. Stolzoff, now 32, left his designer job in 2022 to finish writing his book and explore other sides of himself that had been crowded out by his day job.
