Rudolph W. Giuliani is free from the demands — and protections — of bankruptcy court. A federal judge dismissed his case on Friday, citing the former New York mayor’s failure to comply with almost any of the court’s requirements. Filing for bankruptcy under the Chapter 11 code protected Mr. Giuliani from having his creditors coming after his assets and pursuing lawsuits. But bankruptcy also required that he disclose his assets and details about his businesses. “The record in this case reflects Mr. Giuliani’s continued failure to meet his reporting obligations and provide the financial transparency required of a debtor in possession,” Sean H. Lane, the bankruptcy judge in the Southern District of New York who oversaw the case, said in his dismissal order.

CNN —Donald Trump’s media allies are demanding retribution in the wake of his conviction. Following weeks of attacks targeting the historic hush money case against the former president, prominent right-wing media figures immediately flooded the public discourse Thursday with extreme and disturbing rhetoric after Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts. The toxic commentary is also enflaming desires of retribution held by Trump supporters, with popular right-wing media figures openly declaring their hope that the GOP candidate to nakedly seek revenge against his critics, should he emerge victorious in November and return to the Oval Office. Some of the right’s most popular talking heads are openly calling for the weaponization of government to seek retribution against Trump’s political opponents. But as the legal walls actually begin to close in on Trump, the commentary in right-wing media is getting angrier, more menacing, and taking a markedly darker tone.

And now she’s living rent-free in Fox News hosts’ heads. was rigging the Super Bowl for the Chiefs; and that it was all an unholy plot to supercharge an eventual Biden endorsement. Sign up for the daily digest chronicling the evolving media landscape here. The assault on the American justice system was swift and savage. On Fox, the historic legal action was portrayed as President Joe Biden weaponizing the Justice Department to target his political opponent. In effect, Fox News is once again platforming those who are leading vicious and irresponsible attacks on the country’s criminal justice system. Across the right-wing media ecosystem, the narrative that a sinister deep-state was unfairly targeting Trump to knock him out of the 2024 presidential contest was pervasive.
