CNN —While it’s not yet clear if either US presidential candidate will win in a “Landslide,” singer Stevie Nicks is encouraging people to vote. “I never voted until I was 70, but I regret that. I’ve told everybody that onstage for the last two years,” Nicks said. “In the end of the ’50s and ’60s and into the ’70s, everyone was writing protest songs. “I would say to all my musical poets that write songs to write some songs about what’s happening like I did.”

CNN —As far as Stevie Nicks is concerned, Fleetwood Mac is no more. The singer talked to Vulture about the life and death of her best friend and bandmate, Christine McVie, who died in November 2022 at the age of 79 following a brief illness. “But when Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her,” Nicks said. “When she died, I figured we really can’t go any further with this. There’s no reason to.”McVie wrote and/or performed several of Fleetwood Mac’s hits, including “Don’t Stop,” “Over My Head,” “You Make Loving Fun” and “Say You Love Me.”

At a concert in London, shortly before McVie officially rejoined the band, Nicks dedicated the song “Landslide” to her “mentor. “It was critical that I got on with her because I’d never played with another girl,” McVie told the Guardian in 2013. She officially rejoined Fleetwood Mac after calling Fleetwood himself and gauging what her return would mean for the group.
