CNN —Zendaya and Cher, two fashion luminaries known to the world only by their first name, added another parallel to their relationship during the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The “Dune” star wore a shimmering vintage 2001 Bob Mackie gown with an open bodice and straps across the midriff. The dress bore a striking resemblance to a Bob Mackie design Cher wore in 1972. CNN —Madonna was everywhere at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards in New York — and she wasn’t even there. But it was Artist of the Year nominee Sabrina Carpenter who went the extra mile by tracking down a vintage gown from the Queen of Pop’s style archive. Featuring a deep-V neckline and embellished with sequins, pearls and crystals, the white satin gown was designed — and later customized for Madonna — by celebrated fashion designer Bob Mackie. “Maria Schiavo, a well-known fashion stylist, borrowed my sample of this dress for a Madonna cover shoot for Vanity Fair,” Mackie recalled. ☆ Harrison Ford makes his Marvel debut on set of newly named ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

CNN —Harrison Ford is officially in Marvel mode. On Tuesday, actor Anthony Mackie, who stars as Captain America in the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) “Captain America” franchise, shared a photo of himself hanging out with Ford on set. The retitling, from the previous name “Captain America: New World Order,” was also announced in an email from Disney on Tuesday. Ford is taking on the role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, previously portrayed by William Hurt in 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk,” followed by numerous MCU films including 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War” in 2018. It’s the first time that Ford has been pictured on the set of the new MCU movie.
