In an interview, Kenny G said that Batiste had asked him about the polarized reactions to his work. “You’ve got to play what sounds good to you, and feels good to you,” Kenny G recalled telling him. “Lucky for you, there’s a big audience that seems to like what you do. “To say I love everybody, including Republicans — as a Black guy, I don’t know how that could go,” he said.
