Trump picked up a larger portion of voters under 30 than any Republican presidential candidate since 2008, according to NBC News exit polling, improving with both young men and young women.
In 2020, President Joe Biden beat Trump by 11 percentage points among young men; this year, Trump beat Kamala Harris by 2 points.
Among young women, Biden’s 35-point lead over Trump in 2020 shrunk to a 24-point lead for Harris.
Among young white men without college degrees, Trump beat Harris, 56% to 40%.
“Every candidate and party had an opportunity to really listen to young voters and hear what they really wanted,” Kawashima-Ginsberg said.
