When comparing personal wealth data with homeownership, a curious pattern emerges: Many states with high homeownership rates have lower income levels and vice versa. According to Federal Reserve data, West Virginia’s average personal income of $52,585 per capita is the second-lowest in the US. However, despite its relatively low personal income levels, it has the highest homeownership rate of all 50 states, at 77%, according to US census data. Mississippi—the only state with a lower average personal income than West Virginia—has the third-highest homeownership rate in the country. Even West Virginia, which counts three out of every four housing units in the state as owner-occupied, isn’t insulated, Sansalone said.

CNN —About 1 in every 10 people in the US who uses Adderall or similar combination drugs to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been affected by an ongoing shortage, a new analysis suggests. The US Food and Drug Administration announced that Adderall was in shortage in mid-October 2022, and the share of people with ADHD who filled their prescriptions for Adderall and related medications plunged in the following months. Patients were considered eligible for a monthly prescription fill if they had filled one within the previous two years. Prescriptions for medications used to treat ADHD surged during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially among young adults and women, one study found. But it’s been about a year and a half since she’s been able to fill her Adderall prescription in a “totally uneventful” way, she said.

CNN —John Goodman is looking decidedly more svelte these days. “The Righteous Gemstones” star, who turns 71 on Tuesday, appeared at the 62nd Monte-Carlo TV festival Sunday in top form. Goodman reportedly started working on his health back in 2007, when he stopped drinking. Six years later, he told critic Peter Travers, “I just stopped eating all the time.”“I’d have a handful of food and it’d go to my mouth. And it gives me the energy to work, ‘cause work is very draining.”He served as jury president this year for the Monte-Carlo TV festival.

CNN —Former “Dancing With the Stars” judge Len Goodman has died at age 78. According to his website, he started dancing at age 19 and was a professional dancer before venturing into TV. Goodman served as head judge on BBC dance series “Strictly Come Dancing” – the British version of DWTS – from its inception in 2004, and made his final appearance on the 2016 Christmas Day special. He also wrote several books, including his 2009 autobiography “Better Late Than Never: From Barrow Boy to Ballroom,” “Dancing Around Britain” and “Lost London.”

A report from data analytics firm Trilliant Health found that nationally, prescriptions for Adderall among people ages 22 to 44 increased 15% between 2020 and 2021. “I’ve had patients call 10,15, 20 pharmacies in order to get their medication,” Goodman said. Clara is headed to her doctor to seek an alternative medication until Adderall is back in stock. It took five days for his pharmacy to fill his prescription in late October, and those days took a toll. Goodman strongly warns against this, offering a reminder that not only is selling your own prescription medication a felony, so is sharing it with others.

CNN —“Dancing With the Stars” head judge Len Goodman announced he’ll be retiring from the show. “This will be my last season judging ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” Goodman said during Monday’s episode of the ballroom dance competition. “It’s been such a wonderful experience for me and I look forward so much to next week’s finale. I’m sure it’s going to be absolutely brilliant,” he said. The Season 31 finale of “Dancing With the Stars” will air Monday, November 21 on Disney+.
