CNN —Two Georgia election workers who won a massive verdict against Rudy Giuliani because he defamed them after the 2020 election are asking a federal judge to hold him in contempt of court. The pair, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, say Trump continues to repeat harmful lies about them on his nightly broadcast, in defiance of court orders. Accordingly, the Court should hold him in contempt and enter civil contempt sanctions,” Freeman and Moss’ lawyers wrote to Judge Beryl Howell in the DC District Court. Howell presided over the trial where a jury found Giuliani defamed Freeman and Moss so severely that he should pay them $150 million. He has already lost his law license because of his work for the Trump campaign in 2020, which included his efforts in Georgia.

Patients were recruited from 142 centers in 32 countries and given standardized questionnaires to measure risk factors, according to the study. “This study looked at the association between modifiable risk factors with severe and mild-moderate stroke. “Our study highlights that some risk factors are particularly important for severe stroke. Reducing salt in your diet, avoiding high-cholesterol foods, and eating fresh fruits and vegetables can help to lower blood pressure. Keeping active can also lower blood pressure and help you maintain a healthy weight.

Then, less than six hours after giving birth, O’Neil was wheeled through the labor and delivery unit to go home. Racial disparities persist, she added; for Black people, the preterm birth rate is 1.5 times higher than the rate among all other babies. Many of the regions with high preterm birth rates are maternity care deserts, Williams said. The US cities with high preterm birth rates also are “areas where there are many chronic conditions and patients living with a greater number of things like hypertension, diabetes, obesity – those are all drivers of preterm birth as well,” Williams said. “Every pregnant woman who lives in a maternal health care desert should be provided with access to a health care app that is monitored by remote providers.

They are also trying to take possession, at the court’s direction, of Giuliani’s 26 luxury watches and a 1980 Mercedes-Benz he kept in Florida. The expensive furniture Giuliani had used in real estate photos of the property earlier this year was moved out four weeks ago, he said. Josh Ritchie/Bloomberg/Getty Images“We note that broadcasts, such as those described above, currently provide Mr. Giuliani’s only source of earned income,” Giuliani’s attorney, Kenneth Caruso, told the court. Moss and Freeman’s team have already complained to the judge about Giuliani using the car on Tuesday, submitting to the court the photos. Separately, Giuliani’s lawyers say the property that was in the Manhattan apartment is now in a storage facility on Long Island, but Freeman and Moss’ team say they are struggling to get access to the items there, too.

Never before had a team rallied to win the World Series after losing the first three games. These Yankees made history, but not the way they wanted – they are the only team to blow a five-run lead while facing elimination from the World Series. Then came something that’s always trouble: a little roller along first by a guy named Mookie in a World Series game in New York. AdvertisementIt was only the seventh game in World Series history in which a team lost after leading by five or more runs. And that no team in 54 years had won even once after losing the first three games of a World Series.

Nearly 130 million adults in the United States have some form of heart disease, according to the AHA. Having coronary heart disease raises the risk of future dementia by 27% compared with people without heart disease, the AHA statement said. Heart attacks and heart failureAbout every 40 seconds, someone in the United States will have a heart attack, the AHA estimates. Heart failure is a more severe form of heart disease, in which the heart is too weak to pump enough blood and oxygen to the body’s organs. That benefit held true even for people with existing diagnoses of cardiometabolic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Coronary calcium buildup causes atherosclerosis, a chronic and inflammatory cardiovascular disease marked by narrowed arterial walls and thus reduced blood flow. Environmental contaminants have been increasingly recognized as risk factors for cardiovascular disease, but the association of metals with coronary artery calcification has been “largely unknown,” the study authors said. They hypothesized that higher urinary levels of nonessential metals — cadmium, tungsten and uranium — and essential metals — cobalt, copper and zinc — that have previously been associated with cardiovascular disease may be linked with calcification. The participants didn’t already have clinical cardiovascular disease and were recruited from Baltimore; Chicago; Los Angeles; New York City; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Winston Salem, North Carolina. The trouble with measuring urinary metal levelsThe study has a few other limitations.

CNN —Exercise doesn’t just help you lose fat. Exercise is important for many facets of health, and it may even impact how fat is stored, a new study showed. “Fat tissue itself is very, very important for health,” he said. The goal isn’t more fat tissue, but better capacity to store it, Horowitz said. Fat tissue is supposed to be stored under the skin, and if it can’t go there it’s going to go other places such as your liver, heart or pancreas, he added.

CNN —The care that comes after a cardiac arrest should include supporting mental health — especially for women, new research has found. The team compared the data on patients’ socioeconomic status and mental health with those in the general population, according to the study. The amount of women taking anxiety or depression medications after cardiac arrest was also greater than in women in the general population, said Smits, a postdoctoral researcher at Amsterdam University Medical Center in the Netherlands. “Mental health and stress make cardiac events worse and more frequent, and we know that cardiac events make mental health worse,” he said. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, help is available.

For this study, researchers analyzed data from the Nurses’ Health Study of more than 45,000 people age 50 or older in 1992 who were also free of chronic disease, according to the study published Tuesday in the journal JAMA Network Open. On the other hand, adding two hours of light physical activity at work added a 6% increase in the odds of healthy aging. Replacing one hour of sitting to watch TV with light physical activity at home or work was associated with better chances of healthy aging, the study showed. More activity and less sitting while watching TV may give you a better chance at healthy aging, a new study showed. “You’re missing out on all that physical activity, which is truly an unbelievable way to reduce cardiovascular risk and blood pressure,” Freeman said.

Nearly one-third of those people, who were followed for an average of 12 years, said they regularly used fish oil supplements. Over-the-counter fish oil suffers from a lack of purity and consistency, as well as the potential contaminants and heavy metals such as mercury that come with fish, Freeman said. “In addition, studies over the last 10 years have not been very positive for over-the-counter fish oil,” he added. “Fish oil was either having no benefit or in some cases it may harm, such as with stroke and AFib.

The pomp, the glamour, the conflicts, the characters: When it comes to Britain's royal family, Americans can't seem to get enough. That was evident this week following the announcement of King Charles III's treatment for cancer. They're references for power and prestige, like Aretha Franklin as the “Queen of Soul” or the administration of John F. Kennedy as Camelot. There was a social and cultural element as well: In the 19th century, some rich Americans would find husbands for their daughters among the British aristocracy. And of course, the 20th century has plenty of examples of music, television, etc., that traveled between the two societies.
