☆ Bitcoin surges to a new record high as mainstream money flows into crypto

New York CNN —Bitcoin surged to its all-time high on Monday, shaking off a more than two-year rut that put the future of the entire crypto ecosystem in question. Bitcoin, the world’s first and by-far largest digital currency, was trading at $68,791, topping the previous record of $68,789 reached on November 10, 2021. After just a month, the ETFs had spurred more than $4.2 billion in net new flows, according to Bloomberg. ETFs are investment tools that track a basket of assets but trade like a stock. As bitcoin approaches scarcity, the value is expected to rise.

BlackRock applied in June to register a bitcoin spot ETF, which is pending approval. A BlackRock bitcoin ETF would give the cryptocurrency a new sense of legitimacy. “However, it may appear as part of BlackRock’s preparations to launch the ETF soon.”Other companies have also applied for approval to launch similar bitcoin ETFs, including Greyscale Investments. As investors look to diversify their portfolios in uncertain times, some turn to bitcoin, ironically as a kind of digital safe haven. Sometimes dubbed “digital gold,” bitcoin has become a way for investors to branch out beyond traditional stocks and bonds.

Iranul a trecut la o nouă metodă în încercarea sa de opri mineritul ilegal de criptomonede care a copleșit rețeaua de electricitate a țării: a trimis echipe formate din ofițeri ai serviciului de informații în toată țara pentru a găsi și confisca „fermele” care exploatează monedele digitale precum Bitcoin, fără licență, scrie Bloomberg, citat de Digi24. Creșterea valorii criptomonedelor din ultima perioadă i-a determinat pe tot mai mulți oameni să mineze pentru a obține monede virtuale. Aici intră și Iran, țara care a devenit un magnet pentru minerii Bitcoin, atrași de tarifele foarte mici pentru energie electrică, ajustate în raport cu puterea de cumpărare locală.
