☆ Jim Cramer names chip stocks to buy on the dip

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Monday recommended three chip stocks to buy at a discount: Micron , AMD and Arm . "I think the chip stocks have sold off way too hard," he said. The chip sector has retreated in recent weeks, with SMH , a prominent semiconductor exchange-traded fund, down more than 18% from its 52-week high in July, according to FactSet. Micron : Cramer called Micron "the market leader in memory chips," and said the hyperscalers building out data centers need memory. He added that he thinks the stock is currently cheap based on its earnings estimates for the next fiscal year.

China's growth slowdown is set to hurt global commodity demand, but India could make up for some of that shortfall, according to ANZ. India's economic growth is likely to outpace China's, with the South Asian nation set to become the third-largest economy by the end of this decade, the bank predicted. That means India's demand for commodities will likely surge, and it could cover more than half of China's demand shortfall especially in the energy sector, the bank said in a recent report. "India's demand for commodities is slated to grow rapidly, supported by favorable demographics, urbanization, the expansion of manufacturing and exports and the build-up of infrastructure," ANZ analysts wrote.

The S & P 500 posted its second straight weekly decline, falling 0.3% this week. Given this backdrop, investors have turned to several consumer staples — traditionally seen as defensive stocks — to shore up their portfolios. Mondelez , PepsiCo and Molson Coors — all staples — are the most overbought S & P 500 names through Friday's session. Shares of Mondelez have rallied more than 16% year to date, easily outperforming the S & P 500's 7.4% advance. Estee Lauder is the most oversold S & P 500 stock.

More classified documents from the Obama administration were found in President Joe Biden’s Delaware residence this week — in addition to the two batches that were previously disclosed — the White House said Saturday. The newest set of pages were discovered by White House lawyer Richard Sauber on Thursday in a box initially uncovered by the president's personal lawyers on Wednesday. The White House revealed earlier this week that Biden's lawyers had discovered one document with classified markings in a room adjacent to the garage of his Delaware home. "The President’s personal attorneys discovered one document with a classified marking consisting of one page in a room adjacent to the garage. At that point, the President’s personal attorneys stopped searching the immediate area where the document was found," Sauber said.
