Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy aim to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget by June 4, 2026.
There are more than 440 government agencies; Musk has said he wants to trim that down to no more than 99.
In a post on X, Ramaswamy endorsed the idea, and did so again while speaking to Fox News in November.
For the fiscal year 2024, it had a $90 billion budget, which is less than 11% of the defense budget of $842 billion.
