CNN —The US Women’s National Team (USWNT) announced its squad for the upcoming 2023 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday as it bids to win its third consecutive title. Alongside the experienced core – Morgan, Rapinoe and O’Hara become the 10th, 11th and 12th USWNT players to be selected for four or more tournaments – is a selection of players making their World Cup debuts. After strongly outperforming the broader market in 2022, defense stocks are poised to have another solid year in 2023, according to Morgan Stanley. Still, the firm thinks it's a good time to buy defense stocks. It also makes sense given changes to the U.S. defense budget and potential economic weakness ahead, she said. "We see NOC well-aligned to some of the fastest-growing areas of the US defense budget, including space and nuclear modernization," she said. "We also see particular durability in NOC's portfolio and expect its programs to remain well-funded even if defense spending is pressured, limiting downside risk in a Bear scenario."

CNN —Country music threw a party on Wednesday night as the CMA Awards were presented. First-time nominee Lainey Wilson topped the list of nominees going into the show and ended the night with major wins, including new artist of the year and female vocalist of the year. The emotional Wilson declared in one acceptance speech: “I know I’m new to a lot of folks, but I won’t let y’all all down. I promise you.”Luke Combs also had a big night, taking the stage both as a performer and winner.
