Nathalie Drouin, Trudeau’s national security adviser, told the committee Tuesday that Canada has evidence the Indian government first gathered information on Indian nationals and Canadian citizens in Canada through diplomatic channels and proxies. Drouin said a meeting was held with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national security adviser, Ajit Doval, in Singapore two days earlier. Four Indian nationals living in Canada were charged with Niijar’s murder and are awaiting trial.

Oasis is canceling around 50,000 tickets for its British tour dates that were resold on secondary websites like StubHub and Viagogo. The band’s tour promoters are canceling tickets resold through unofficial secondary sites to stop price gouging, a spokesperson for Live Nation and SJM, the Oasis tour promoters, told CNN. CNN saw ticket prices as high as $7,294 for the Oasis tour on Viagogo, a secondary market for ticket sales. Canceled tickets will be made available for face value on Ticketmaster, which is owned by Live Nation and considered the designated site for Oasis tickets. The North American leg of the Oasis tour begins on August 24, 2025, at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Ontario.

Earlier in the day, India retaliated by ordering the expulsion of six high-ranking Canadian diplomats, including the acting high commissioner, and said it had withdrawn its envoy from Canada, contradicting Canada’s statement of expulsion. India said it had asked six Canadian diplomats to leave by Saturday. The ministry also said it had summoned Acting High Commissioner in India Stewart Wheeler, Canada’s top diplomat in the South Asian country. Therefore, the Government of India has decided to withdraw the High Commissioner and other targeted diplomats and officials,” India’s foreign ministry said in a statement.

CNN —Archaeologists have identified the cannibalized remains of a senior officer who perished during an ill-fated 19th century Arctic expedition, offering insight into its lost crew’s tragic and grisly final days. The remains identified as Fitzjames’ in the new study, published September 24 in the Journal of Archaeological Science, were among them. The remains of James Fitzjames, a senior officer who took part in Sir John Franklin's lost expedition to the Northwest Passage, showed signs of having been cannibalized, a new study said. However, unlike Fitzjames’ remains, Gregory’s bones did not display any cut marks suggestive of cannibalism. Canada’s national parks service and the Inuit communities found the final resting place of the HMS Erebus in 2014 and the HMS Terror in 2016.

CNN —To borrow from one of their song titles, Oasis has decided to “Acquiesce” to their North American fans who want to get in on their reunion tour. The British rock band has announced an expansion of their 2025 tour, which now includes dates in the US. “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America,” a statement from the band’s management shared on Instgagram reads. Presale registration for the North American tour is currently available on Oasis’ website until Tuesday at 8 a.m ET, while the general ticket sale will begin at noon Friday local time. The band plans to also tour outside of Europe and North America.

Kovrig and fellow Canadian Michael Spavor were taken into custody in December 2018 shortly after Canadian police detained Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei, on a U.S. warrant. Kovrig noted that U.N. guidelines say prisoners should not be put into solitary confinement for more than 15 days in a row. Kovrig said there was no daylight in the solitary cell, where the fluorescent lights were kept on 24 hours a day. “It’s a combination of solitary confinement, total isolation and relentless interrogation for six to nine hours every day,” he said.

Ford Motor said on Thursday it would retool a plant in Canada to produce large pickup trucks rather than the electric sport-utility vehicles it had previously planned to make there. The Ford plant, in Oakville, Ontario, recently stopped making the gasoline-powered Ford Edge S.U.V., and was slated to shift to new electric versions of the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator, both three-row S.U.V.s. Instead, Ford will turn the factory in Oakville into a third production location for its Super Duty pickup trucks, which are among its most profitable models. Jim Farley, the chief executive of Ford, said the company’s two other Super Duty plants, in Kentucky and Ohio, were running at full capacity but couldn’t produce as many vehicles as its commercial customers wanted. The merchant ship was carrying taconite, a low-grade iron ore, the Coast Guard said on X. Our money was worth more back then, so we got more value for our Canadian dollar when we went shopping in the States. She was an American living in Atlanta and said, "Hey, why don't you come and spend the winter with me?" It almost seemed like Canada was 10 or 20 years behind, progressive-wise — and I don't mean politically. The amenities, the shopping, the food, and the restaurants in Canada are way behind if you're outside Vancouver or Toronto.
