The head of Britain's domestic spy agency on Tuesday accused Russian military intelligence of being on a "sustained mission" to cause mayhem in Britain and Europe. The spy chief said the agency was having to deal with a "dizzying range" of beliefs and ideologies, citing risks posed by Russia, Iran, China and others. McCallum said the number of state threat investigations MI5 is running had jumped 48% in the last year. He said the GRU — Russian military intelligence — in particular was on "a sustained mission to generate mayhem on British and European streets: we've seen arson, sabotage and more." CNN —Actor David McCallum, known for his role on the long-running CBS procedural “NCIS,” has died, the network said in a statement. “He was the kindest, coolest, most patient and loving father,” his son Peter McCallum wrote in a statement from the family, provided by CBS. “He always put family before self.”McCallum died of natural causes surrounded by his family at New York Presbyterian Hospital, CBS said. “David was a gifted actor and author, and beloved by many around the world,” the network’s statement read. McCarrick, a former archbishop of Washington, D.C., is the only current or former U.S. Catholic cardinal to ever face child sex abuse charges, with prosecutors in Massachusetts and Wisconsin filing separate cases against him.
