The Massachusetts State Police has suspended full-contact boxing training activities among recruits after one died, a state police spokesperson said. Tim McGuirk, a state police department spokesperson, said in a statement Monday that the full-contact boxing training activities between trainees has been suspended until further notice. Mawn also directed the state police’s Division of Standards and Training “to comprehensively review the Academy’s defensive tactics program,” McGuirk said. Early said state police detectives assigned to his office would continue to investigate Delgado-Garcia’s death and work with whomever takes over the investigation. Specifics of the boxing training exercise Delgado-Garcia participated in have not been disclosed.

Officials were searching for a runaway bull in southern Massachusets early Monday after a herd of the animals jumped a fence at a rodeo event a day earlier. “Community members should exercise extreme caution and not approach the bull if found. The animals escaped their pens, ran through the parking lot and jumped over the fence, before fleeing south towards nearby woods, according to Coleman. One bull was caught just after fleeing, and six were corralled some three miles away by local police and firefighters, along with environmental police, workers from the rodeo and staff from the New England Rodeo in nearby Norton, Coleman said. No injuries were reported but the rodeo, which was being held at a mall, was under investigation, he added.

Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is seeking medical treatment after his onstage altercation with guitarist Dave Navarro at the band’s Sept. 13 concert in Boston, according to the singer’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell. “To that end we apologize.”She continued, “We are taking a bit of time to ourselves, to reflect and to heal. Perry already has appointments with [an] otolaryngologist and a neurologist.” In an earlier Instagram post following the onstage outburst, Etty Lau Farrell mentioned that the Jane’s Addiction singer “had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night” prior to the Boston show. At the Jane’s Addiction concert on Sept. 13, crew members restrained an agitated Perry Farrell after he threw a punch at guitarist Navarro.
