Johnson & Johnson on Tuesday sued the Biden administration over Medicare's new powers to slash drug prices, making it the third pharmaceutical company to challenge the controversial provision of the Inflation Reduction Act. The lawsuit filed in federal district court in New Jersey argues the Medicare negotiations violate the First and Fifth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. June 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Friday revised its guidance for its Medicare drug price negotiation process, allowing drug companies to publicly discuss the talks, but did not make major changes likely to convince drugmakers to end their suits seeking to halt the program. In September, the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will select 10 of the Medicare program's costliest prescription medicines and negotiate price cuts to go into effect for 2026. That guidance precluded drug makers from talking about the negotiations and required them to eventually destroy data received from CMS. Industry group the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) made an additional claim that the price negotiation program violates the U.S. Constitution's Eight Amendment, which protects against excessive fines. The Biden administration's drug pricing reform aims to save $25 billion annually by 2031 through price negotiations for the drugs most costly to Medicare.

"Meet the Press" host and moderator Chuck Todd announced on Sunday that he will step down this year after nine years hosting the public affairs talk show. "'Meet the Press' has sustained its historic role as the indispensable news program on Sunday mornings," Blumenstein and Budoff Brown said. She is the second woman — following its inaugural host, Martha Rountree — and the first Black journalist to moderate "Meet the Press." Todd — the 12th moderator of "Meet the Press" and a five-time Emmy-winning journalist — saw himself as a custodian of the show. Welker has regularly filled in for Todd on "Meet the Press."

She applied and was accepted to the online program in 2020. In exchange for expanding course offerings and recruiting students, OPMs receive a big chunk of the tuition revenue from the online programs, which usually cost the same as in-person schooling. While it's not always the case, many experts and grads told me that OPMs were offering online students a worse education for a sky-high price. A third-party provider to those schools, 2U signs a contract to offer services such as recruiting and technology to boost online enrollment. But beyond scandals, the everyday business of OPMs is leaving many online students with exorbitant bills, despite how cheap it is to administer the courses.

Navy SEAL candidates reportedly use PEDs like testosterone, growth hormone, and Viagra to get through trainingAfter Mullen's death, a subsequent Navy investigation found performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) in his car, including testosterone and human growth hormone. Several other SEAL candidates were removed from the program for drug use following the investigation.
