CNN —Some types of sea robins, a peculiar bottom-dwelling ocean fish, use taste bud-covered legs to sense and dig up prey along the seafloor, according to new research. A species of sea robins called Prionotus carolinus studied by the researchers used their legs for walking, digging and sensing the seafloor. And the fish that lacked sensory capabilities and used their legs mainly for walking were striped sea robins, or Prionotus evolans. The digging sea robins had shovel-shaped legs that were covered in protrusions called papillae, which are similar to the taste buds on our tongues. Both researchers said they are keen to uncover the exact mechanisms behind the evolution of the sea robins’ sensory appendages.

The megastructure spans 23 million light-years in length, making these black hole jets the largest ever seen, according to new research. Wegovy, the blockbuster weight loss treatment from Novo Nordisk , tops the list of drugs that could soon become part of the second round of price negotiations between manufacturers and Medicare. The Biden administration last month announced new negotiated prices for the first 10 Medicare Part D drugs selected for the talks. CNN —The tens of thousands of bees removed from a Maine farmhouse this week had caused quite a buzz there for decades, according to the family who’s lived on the farm since the 18th century. An estimated 40,000 bees were taken from the walls of a farmhouse at Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook, Maine, according to CNN affiliate WMTW. The bees were removed from a Maine farmhouse this week. Instead of killing the bees, the Knight family wanted to save the colony living in the farmhouse, which needs renovation, so they requested MacDonald’s services, WMTW reported. The Knight family said they plan to maintain the outdoor hive and the bees will be later relocated elsewhere on the farm, according to WMTW.
