JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon spoke with Bloomberg about how he thinks AI will impact the future of work. Dimon said that he thinks AI will eventually cut down the work week to three and a half days. Many leaders have been advocating for a 4-day workweek, with AI making this move more plausible. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon thinks that the next generation of workers will only need to go into the office 3.5 days a week, thanks to AI. "Your children will live to 100 and not have cancer because of technology and they'll probably be working three and a half days a week," Dimon told Bloomberg.

[1/2] Cricket - Second Test - England v New Zealand - Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Britain - June 14, 2022 England's Stuart Broad walks in ahead of play Action Images via Reuters/Andrew Boyers/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 29 (Reuters) - The Pavilion End at Trent Bridge will be renamed the Stuart Broad End to recognise one of England's greatest bowlers who retired earlier this year after the Ashes series. Broad, who played his final test in July when England tied 2-2 with Australia, took 604 test wickets -- behind only Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, James Anderson and Anil Kumble. The Pavilion End holds a special place in Broad's heart as he bagged the only test hat-trick seen at the venue, against India in 2011. Broad picked up 190 wickets in 43 appearances for county and country at Trent Bridge. Broad's former team mate Anderson, England's leading wicket taker, had an end named after him in 2017 at his home ground Old Trafford -- the end where Broad picked up his 600th test wicket.

And opera needs works like “10 Days,” which treats the medium with affection and respect while also chafing at its tropes throughout history. For this is an opera that jerks between beauty and terror — seamlessly under the baton of Daniela Candillari, leading an ensemble of about a dozen instrumentalists. The patients (members of Opera Philadelphia Chorus, led by Elizabeth Braden) can sing the same hymn with serenity in one scene and chaotic dissonance in the next, with few indications of which is the truer rendition. The most tragic of the patients is Lizzie (the mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis, who sings with a lush and moving elegance that would make her ideal for mid-20th century American opera). Her repetitive ramblings come into logical focus with a long, crushing aria about the death of her daughter.

On Sunday morning, a brown-and-white capsule will shoot through Earth’s atmosphere to drop off a cache of pristine space rock to a team of eagerly waiting scientists and engineers. If successful, the sample return will be the end of a seven-year mission by NASA called OSIRIS-REX — which stands for Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resources Identification and Security-Regolith Explorer — that launched in 2016. When will OSIRIS-REX drop off the sample and how can I watch? NASA will livestream the arrival on its YouTube channel starting around 10 a.m. Earlier on Sunday, the OSIRIS-REX command team conducted what they call a go-or-no-go poll to determine whether the spacecraft would release the capsule.

Celebrating a new year — as Jews the world over will do this week, when Rosh Hashana begins on Friday at sunset — is all about making changes. It’s a time for new beginnings, for wiping the slate clean and starting over from scratch. In that spirit, on Rosh Hashana Jews say prayers and listen to readings that celebrate the creation of the world and of human life. But Rosh Hashana also strikes a different, seemingly discordant note. This is an insight about human nature that the rites of Rosh Hashana capture especially well, but it’s one that people of any faith (or no faith at all) can benefit from.

America will no longer bea young nation but an old one. Opinion Can America Age Gracefully? America may still think of itself as a young nation, but as a society, it is growing old. A demographic shift this significant calls for a broad-based response, and the longer the challenges go unaddressed, the more formidable they become. Many older people in the United States say they feel invisible in a country that has long been obsessed with youth, avoiding the inevitability — and possibilities — of old age.

The Kremlin said Western suggestions he had been killed on its orders were an "absolute lie." "Today we have reached the boiling point," he said in the clip published on Grey Zone, Wagner's Telegram channel. He added, "But I will not lie, I must say honestly that Russia is on the brink of disaster. Some posts speculated Prigozhin was alive. One post said Ukraine had killed Prigozhin by order of US special services "and the Anglo-Saxons" and added, "it is inconvenient for us to lose such a hero," to which someone responded with three crying-laughing emojis.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed in a plane crash near Moscow. An old video has surfaced in which he says he would rather die than lie and makes a plane crash analogy. The clip has sparked speculation about the way he died, and whether he is dead at all. The mercenary group leader, who led an aborted coup against Russian military leadership in June, was killed in a plane crash outside Moscow. CNN —Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said he warned Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin twice to watch out for threats to his life. “The first time was when I phoned him and negotiations (were taking) place while they were marching on Moscow,” Lukashenko told reporters in comments carried by Belarusian state news agency Belta on Friday. The Belarusian president said he suggested to Prigozhin that he could talk with Putin and “guarantee full security” in Belarus if he was concerned for his security, Belta reported. On Friday, the Kremlin said that examinations including genetic testing were underway to determine whether Prigozhin was killed in Wednesday’s plane crash. Russian authorities have yet to officially confirm Prigozhin’s death but have acknowledged the plane crash in public comments.

A woman lights a candle in front of a portrait of Wagner mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin at a makeshift memorial in Moscow, Russia August 24. Prigozhin, Lukashenko said on Friday, had twice dismissed concerns raised by the Belarusian leader about possible threats to his life. Lukashenko said that during the mutiny he had warned Prigozhin that he would "die" if he continued to march on Moscow, to which he said Prigozhin had answered:"'To hell with it - I will die'." Lukashenko, both an old acquaintance of Prigozhin and close ally of Russia, said that Putin had nothing to do with the plane crash. Lukashenko said Wagner fighters would remain in Belarus.

It’s not just that life expectancy in Mississippi (71.9) now appears to be a hair shorter than in Bangladesh (72.4). Nor that an infant is some 70 percent more likely to die in the United States than in other wealthy countries. Nor even that for the first time in probably a century, the likelihood that an American child will live to the age of 20 has dropped. All that is tragic and infuriating, but to me the most heart-rending symbol of America’s failure in health care is the avoidable amputations that result from poorly managed diabetes. That noise of a saw on bone is a rebuke to an American health care system that, as Walter Cronkite reportedly observed, is neither healthy, caring nor a system.
