More significant to the political dynamics at play, however, is how the civilian overseas vote has eclipsed military voters abroad. “As it turns out, there are more overseas civilian voters than there are military voters,” said Michael McDonald, a University of Florida political science professor. GOP congressmen suing their own stateIn the Pennsylvania case, the dispute is over how overseas ballots are being vetted. Democrats, who intervened in the case, argue that the Republican lawmakers’ request could disenfranchise “tens of thousands” of overseas voters, including those in uniform. “Our lawsuit does not in any way affect military voters’ right to vote, which is protected by federal law under UOCAVA.

Unlike most super PACs, however, America PAC is not spending its money to reserve expensive television air time to run ads. Instead, the group's filings show that it is paying canvassers and funding direct mail, texts and phone banking.

We did hold onto our rate-sensitive names like Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley , which were among the best performers since the last Monthly Meeting. Morgan Stanley: 16.2% Following the Fed's decision, shares advanced as investors became more optimistic about a soft landing for the U.S. economy. Morgan Stanley benefits from lower rates — and, in turn, a better economy — because it can usher in more Wall Street dealmaking such as initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. That's because the Club has been debating exiting Morgan Stanley altogether for a potentially better investment banking rebound play like Goldman Sachs. Morgan Stanley reiterated its buy-equivalent rating on Oct. 10, arguing that Eaton has a positive setup into earnings season.

Shares of the Dutch bank traded 1.2% lower at the market open and was last down 0.6% as of 9:15 a.m. London time. The Dutch government, which currently holds a 40.5% interest in ABN Amro, announced via its investment vehicle firm NLFI that it will sell shares using a pre-arranged trading plan set to be executed by Barclays Bank Ireland. ABN Amro was bailed out by the state during the 2008 financial crisis and later privatized in 2015. The U.K. and German administrations have both made moves this year to reduce their respective shareholdings in NatWest and Commerzbank.

Bank of America topped analyst estimates for third-quarter profit and revenue on better-than-expected trading results. Here's what the company reported:Earnings: 81 cents vs. 77 cents LSEG estimateRevenue: $25.49 billion vs. $25.3 billion estimateThe bank said Tuesday that net income fell 12% from a year earlier to $6.9 billion, or 81 cents a share. Revenue rose less than 1% to $25.49 billion as a rise in trading revenue and asset management and investment banking fees offset a decline in net interest income. That's a key question after the lender signaled in July that a rebound in net interest income was coming in the second half of this year. Bank of America has seen its haul from net interest income get compressed as the Federal Reserve boosted rates over the past two years.
