The martial law order, South Korea’s first since 1980, was reversed so quickly that many South Koreans weren’t aware of it until they woke up on Wednesday. People her age who had experienced martial law under the military dictatorship rushed to convenience stores to buy canned food, she said. Biden, who hosted Yoon for a state visit to Washington last year, has worked to enhance military and other ties with South Korea as a deterrent against China and North Korea, establishing a new trilateral security partnership with South Korea and its historic rival Japan. Earlier this year, South Korea became the first country outside the U.S. to host Biden’s annual Summit for Democracy. As South Korea grapples with political instability, the U.S. “should remain a steadfast ally,” Easley said.

Salesforce's revenue grew 8% year over year to $9.44 billion in its third quarter, up from the $9.34 billion expected by LSEG. Salesforce raised revenue guidance to between $37.8 billion and $38 billion for its fiscal 2025, up slightly from $37.7 billion to $38 billion it had previously reported. The analysts said they are encouraged by Salesforce's strong start with its artificial intelligence agent, Agentforce, as it closed more than 200 deals during the quarter with "thousands" more in the pipeline. Salesforce's Agentforce is an example of so-called AI agent technology. Goldman Sachs analysts raised their Salesforce price target from $360 to $400 and reiterated their buy rating on the stock.

AdvertisementThe CEO said Salesforce "delivered" 200 deals for this new generative AI offering after it became generally available in the last week of the quarter. Before my daughter Galileo was born in April, I thought a lot about postpartum depression. Technical analysis-based trade ideas can be classified into two main categories – trend following or mean-reverting. In other words, there's no reason to guess when momentum is going to turn higher – if it does at all. However, when a declining stock gets washed out and/or falls to a confluence of support, the risk return ratio can turn favorable. And with the stock's recent hold above the 130-zone the last few weeks, it could be getting ready for another rally attempt. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.

South Korea’s opposition, which controls the National Assembly, has threatened to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol if he does not resign after his ill-fated decision to impose martial law. If Mr. Yoon quits or is removed from office then, under the constitution, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo will step in to perform presidential duties. Mr. Yoon, a conservative, came into office after winning the 2022 presidential election by a threadbare margin, and appointed Mr. Han as the prime minister that year. Mr. Han began his career as a civil servant in the early 1970s, working on trade and industrial policy for decades. From 2009 to 2012, Mr. Han was South Korea’s ambassador to the United States.
