Within a month, I realized I'd landed in something I hadn't known existed at Amazon: an easy job. I also realized I liked having an easy job. In my "easy" role, I developed those core strengths even further and pursued new skills as complements. I no longer assumed that hard work had to mean struggle or fear of inadequacy.

While Su has previously spoken with Boeing and the striking West Coast factory workers’ union, it is her first time in Seattle meeting both sides in person. Roughly 33,000 workers have been on strike since Sept. 13, seeking a 40% wage increase over four years. Boeing will next month send out 60-day notices to thousands of workers including many in its commercial aviation division, meaning those staff will leave the company in mid-January, one source familiar with the matter said. A Boeing spokesperson said the company had shared information with managers including plans for 10% reductions at its commercial unit involving both union and non-union workers. “Boeing just turned its back on 17,000 of its own workers — the same people who carried Boeing through crisis after crisis, year after year,” he said in a statement.

Duolingo's CEO said being in the office is key for brainstorming. In an interview on The Verge's "Decoder" podcast, Luis von Ahn said that employees must come into the office three days a week. "Most of what we do is creative stuff," von Ahn told "Decoder." While RTO mandates have proved massively unpopular elsewhere, von Ahn said the transition at Duolingo was smooth because the company consistently managed expectations. When it first went remote, von Ahn said he told employees — and new hires — that they would eventually be going back to the office.

He’s lived through many storms in his 30 years on Longboat Key, but Bob Parrish said he’s never before seen the level of destruction that Hurricane Helene blew into town a little more than two weeks ago. Klaudia Radecka | Nurphoto | Getty ImagesTesla 's hyped robotaxi unveiling posed a threat to Uber 's ride-sharing aspirations, but it has turned into a boon for the stock instead. That is a massive turnaround for Uber's stock, which is now up nearly 22% over the past month and about 38% for the year. "We believe this helps minimize the ongoing overhang on UBER's stock from TSLA's aspirations in the robotaxi space." Although Tesla appears committed to developing its robotaxi fleet without partnering with existing ride-sharing platforms, Colantuoni expects it could ultimately have to look into this option. Tesla "potentially underappreciates the obstacles to scaling a robotaxi fleet" and could struggle to scale its fleet operations without offering access to demand through Uber and Lyft, he said.

The Boeing strike is growing increasingly ill-tempered as both sides have filed NLRB complaints.
