They give the lie to the “Cease-Fire Now” mirage, or imposture, that has become a rallying cry at pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Why should it matter that it was Hamas that broke the cease-fire when Palestinian civilians are being killed in large numbers by Israeli bombs and bullets? As I write, there are reports that Hamas might release some hostages in exchange for a brief cease-fire. What about for Palestinians — women, children and noncombatant men for whom the calls for a cease-fire are supposedly intended? There are good intentions, if also ignorance and shortsightedness, among many of those demanding a cease-fire.

The fact that Napoleon can’t live up to his own larger-than-life image is part of what makes Napoleon larger than life. There are obvious differences between Trump and Napoleon — Trump avoided the draft and was not a successful general; Napoleon was never elected and conquered large parts of Europe; Trump’s coup attempt was unsuccessful. “Napoleon” suggests that our fascination with grotesque populist windbags is itself a source of their power. Napoleon might not love this movie, but he’d surely enjoy seeing his face blown up there on the big screen.

Oct 31 (Reuters) - Australia opener David Warner says his World Cup form is making doubters "look stupid" and hopes to add to his mountain of runs in the next match against ailing England. "Everyone keeps writing me off," said lefthander Warner who turned 37 last week. Asked if he was motivated to prove doubters wrong, Warner said: "Nup. Warner said team mates had nicknamed Head 'Chaos' for looking to attack bowlers at every chance. Warner said "it would be nice" to add to England's misery but said Australia should not underestimate them.

How can you not keep the federal funds rate higher for longer when you get a U.S. GDP number that surpasses the real GDP of China. He sees the three Oreos taken out of the bag and the higher price nonetheless. The average person hurt by higher rates is collateral damage to the greater anti-inflation mission. All the market has to do is reach a price level that is too darned compelling. And who says we won't see higher rates until the horizon is at last upon us?
