Institutional portfolios will continue to underperform due to a lack of adequate exposure to Nvidia and other winning technology names, UBS warned. Strategist Patrick Palfrey told clients that large-cap managers have 4.4% exposure to Nvidia, despite the artificial intelligence darling accounting for 6.6% of the S & P 500 . That is the biggest underweight position ever in Nvidia, according to Palfrey. As a result, "a continued TECH+ underweight is likely to remain a headwind for many portfolios," Palfrey wrote to clients. The latest evidence came Tuesday as the S & P 500 hit a record high , boosted by a 4% rally in Nvidia as CEO Huang finished selling shares for the time being under a preset trading plan.

Nvidia is the latest poster child on Wall Street for "10 baggers," stocks that soar in price 10 times. But the AI chipmaker's path to " 10-bagger " status included what is also a typical slump (or two) along the way, according to Trivariate Research. To find the 84 stocks, Parker looked for names with market capitalizations over $2 billion and average daily trading volume of at least $30 million. He then screened for stocks that achieved 10-bagger status, and further culled the list to only those that accomplished the feat in the past 25 years. The chart below contains the names that achieved 10-bagger status most recently, along with information on their drawdowns.

John Roese, the global chief technology officer and chief AI officer of Dell Technologies. In the long term, those two have to come closer together to achieve the speed necessary for an AI cycle. So the quality of what you produce in your organization as a CTO — if you're going to provide models built in-house — better be superstar quality, or no one's using it. Once you understand that those are high level, then you have to ask if you are actually on a path where if you apply AI, you're going to get to an outcome. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is done selling the chipmaker's stock for the time being, cashing in more than $700 million under a prearranged plan. The 61-year-old executive in mid-March adopted a trading plan for the sale of up to six million Nvidia shares by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Huang has hit that threshold months ahead of schedule after a flurry of transactions between June 13 and Sept. 12, according to a new regulatory filing. Even though the sales were made under a 10b5-1 plan, which allows insiders to sell shares under a preplanned structure, Nvidia shares seemed to get a boost from the update Tuesday, trading more than 4% higher.
