However, Morgan Stanley's note made us curious to screen our portfolio for stocks with strong dividend growth track records that are expected to persist. To help us project which stocks will keep their dividend growth streaks alive, we also examined analyst estimates for total per-share payouts in their current fiscal year. Bottom line In any case, dividend growth over time is certainly welcome and can help increase total investment return, assuming the distributions are reinvested instead of taking cash.

☆ Clorox and MGM Resorts aren't the only companies dealing with cyberattack damage

It all kind of started Wednesday of last week when Johnson Controls revealed it had been hit by a cyberattack. But why is this specific cybersecurity incident of particular interest? That agency is reportedly investigating if any floor plans and security information were exposed as a result of the attack. The culprit was a significant cybersecurity breach from August — "which caused wide-scale disruption of Clorox's operations, including order processing delays and significant product outages." Clorox is now expecting a hefty year-over-year sales decline as well as a quarterly loss thanks to the incident.

For years in fashion, it was trendy for one designer to helm two brands: their own, usually a relatively small one, and a big heritage house at which they acted as, essentially, talent for hire. John Galliano did it, so did Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang and Karl Lagerfeld (well, he actually ran three brands). Then, as tends to happen, industry wisdom decided this was not really a good idea. It was too draining, too complicated and a designer should be fully committed to one brand. But exactly why it’s so hard for one designer to serve two masters was rarely more obvious as it was on Tuesday at Peter Do’s fantastic first show in Paris — which took place about two weeks after his ho-hum first show as creative director of Helmut Lang, in New York.

CNN —Record-breaking NASA astronaut Frank Rubio has finally returned to Earth, feeling the pull of the planet’s gravity for the first time in more than a year. The crew’s arrival marked the end of a long — and unexpected — journey for Rubio, who had been slated to spend only six months aboard the International Space Station. Rubio bested the previous record for the longest stay in space by a US astronaut — 355 days — which was set by NASA’s Mark Vande Hei in 2022. September has been unkind to stocks – living up to its historical reputation as the weakest month for the S & P 500 . Still, some Club stocks have been able to buck the downward trend since the start of the month — and none more so than Humana (HUM). The health insurer advanced 7.3% through Friday's close, putting it among the top-10 performing stocks in the S & P 500 over that stretch. In a year largely characterized by outperformance in technology stocks, health care has been one of the worst S & P 500 sectors . The stock entered Monday's session down more than 11% in 2023, the third-worst of any Club stock.

That Pfizer (PFE.N) shot and one developed by GSK (GSK.L) in May became the first two RSV vaccines to win U.S. approval, for use in people aged 60 and over to prevent severe illness. Still, infants and older adults have a higher risk of developing severe RSV. RSV leads to 58,000 to 80,000 hospitalizations among children under age 5, and 60,000 to 160,000 hospitalizations among adults age 65 and older each year, according to the CDC. Early data suggests that the RSV shots are protective for at least two years, but it is not yet clear how often older adults will need to be revaccinated. Bausch Health (BHC) is a different case. Key points Health-care stocks outperformed the broader U.S. stock market last year, but this year it's been much-tougher sledding for the sector due to a variety of headwinds. We feel comfortable owning our three other primary health care stocks: GE Healthcare, Humana and Danaher. In recent weeks, analysts at Wells Fargo and Citigroup have started coverage of GE Healthcare with buy ratings. Eli Lilly not only reported a stellar second quarter, management was able to raise its full-year sales and adjusted earnings outlook as well. Though revenues were a tad short, earnings results were better than expected on a both a HAAP and adjusted basis. Constellation Brands' (STZ) sales and earnings results outpaced expectations.
