An American Airlines Airbus A321 plane takes off from Los Angeles International airport (LAX) in Los Angeles, California, U.S. March 28, 2018. Continued strength in travel demand has provided pilots an upper hand in contract talks and bolstered their bargaining power as airlines rush to staff up and expand capacity. Rival United Airlines (UAL.O) too had last month announced a preliminary deal for a new four-year contract that would give its pilots a cumulative increase of 34.5%-40.2% in pay. American Airlines now expects its cost per available seat mile excluding fuel and net special items to rise about 4% to 6%, compared with a prior forecast of about 2% to 4% growth. The company reaffirmed its annual cost outlook, mainly due to changes in the anticipated timing of other expenses.

A view of a Nvidia logo at their headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan May 31, 2023. At least 19 brokerages have this month raised their target price on Nvidia, pushing the median view to $500, which is a 6.5% increase to the stock's last closing price. Citi analysts said last week they were only modeling a revenue forecast of around $12 billion, but buy-side expectations have gone up to $14 billion. REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsAug 15 (Reuters) - ChatGPT creator OpenAI made a strong case for the use of AI in content moderation, saying it can unlock efficiencies at social media firms by speeding up the time it takes to handle some of the grueling tasks. OpenAI, which is backed by Microsoft, said its latest GPT-4 AI model can reduce the process of content moderation to a few hours from months and ensure more consistent labeling. "The process (of content moderation) is inherently slow and can lead to mental stress on human moderators," OpenAI said. "With this system, the process of developing and customizing content policies is trimmed down from months to hours." Separately, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said on Tuesday that the startup does not train its AI models on user-generated data.
