The Constant Metamorphosis of Nona Hendryx
  + stars: | 2024-06-10 | by ( Melena Ryzik | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
In a purple catsuit and spiky celestial headpiece, Nona Hendryx beckoned, with a wave. “In the forest of the ancestors.”It was not the real Hendryx but her digital avatar, giving a tour of a new virtual reality project. They both inhabit a world of their own creation, signaling urgently for everyone to catch up. journey was Hendryx’s 1983 electro jam “Transformation” — “Change your mind/Change your skin,” the lyrics go — because, she said, “I’ve constantly evolved and transformed over time.”With each metamorphosis, Hendryx has spun into an even more singular cultural presence. In fact, she blithely told me, she never wanted to be a singer at all.

CNN —Judge Aileen Cannon had been on the federal bench for little more than a year when a senior judge offered to preside over one of her first criminal trials in her isolated south Florida courthouse. In her seven years as a Justice Department attorney, Cannon participated on the trial teams of just four criminal cases. Still, Cannon has asked questions in the Trump case that appear out of left field. Her orientation toward such legal rabbit holes is not distinct to the Trump case, veterans of her courtroom say. Ultimately, nearly every attorney CNN spoke to said that Cannon, despite the criticism, is unwavering in her beliefs about how each case in her courtroom should proceed.

CNBC's Jim Cramer said Wednesday he's expecting a strong quarter next week from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike despite some weakness in other corners of the enterprise software market. Investor sentiment around software has become downbeat, but CrowdStrike is "one company that seems to be immune" to the negativity, Cramer said. In recent days, two Wall Street analysts issued upbeat notes on CrowdStrike. Earnings reports last week from Workday and Intuit added to the questions about the demand environment for enterprise software. Alongside its fiscal 2025 first quarter earnings report last week, Workday cut its full-year forecast for subscription revenue.

Crowdstrike (CRWD) is a best-in-class cybersecurity leader that is poised for a technical breakout from resistance, despite being richly valued. One of the top concerns for firms in a post-pandemic world of remote, at-home workers is cybersecurity. Plus, the industry will also benefit greatly from the generative AI and cloud computing boom. And the long-term outlook for cybersecurity stocks is quite bullish as we power into what Nvidia's Jensen Huang refers to as 'the next industrial revolution'. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.
