Boeing did not have any witnesses at either hearing Wednesday, but at a briefing earlier this week it defended the standards used to build planes. Boeing recently said it has searched for records but believes its employees did not document the work. DETROIT — Republican governors of six states on Tuesday condemned the United Auto Workers' push to organize automotive factories in the South, warning the union's efforts could lead to layoffs and fewer future investments. The joint statement — signed by governors in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas — comes a day before Volkswagen workers in Chattanooga, Tennessee, begin voting on whether to join the UAW. Phil Murphy and the state’s health commissioner claiming that a loophole in state law exposes casino workers to health problems from secondhand smoke. Casino workers have long been advocating for protections under the 2006 smoke-free law, but progress has been snagged for years in the New Jersey legislature. But somehow, our casino workers have been asked to roll the dice,” UAW President Shawn Fain said at a press conference Friday. The casino workers have faced “death, severe physical illness, severe mental, physical and emotional distress, pain and suffering, anxiety, and stress,” the lawsuit said.

NASA will launch sounding rockets and WB-57 high-altitude planes to conduct research on aspects of the sun and Earth that‘s only possible during an eclipse. During the 2017 eclipse that crossed the US, NASA and other space agencies conducted observations using 11 different spacecraft and two high-altitude planes. Three sounding rockets will launch from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on April 8 to study the eclipse. During the 2023 annular eclipse, instruments on the rockets measured sharp, immediate changes in the ionosphere. The jets have custom noses that can carry specialized scientific instruments.
