CNN —It’s almost impossible to know what to say to someone in the throes of grief. There’s no one right answer, of course. Still, trading notes with a few grieving people, including my own children, I’ve found some helpful do’s and five unexpected don’ts. It goes something like this: Some things in life are glorious, and some things suck. Remember, it’s OK to say you don’t know what to say.

Goldman Environmental Prize winner Andrea Vidaurre said her award-winning efforts to improve air quality in California are very much tied to her own experiences. Vidaurre, who is Peruvian American, was born and raised in California’s Inland Empire, which is east of Los Angeles and has some of the country’s worst air quality. “It is really personal to me because they are the front lines of all of this,” she said. “If you live anywhere in the region, you’re impacted by air quality.”Vidaurre was one of six people around the globe — one for each inhabited continent — who were awarded what’s been referred to as the “Green Nobel” earlier this year. Other states have also adopted California’s regulations, meaning that Vidaurre’s work has had a national impact.

North Carolina resident Michael Cusick and his Rivian R1T got caught in Hurricane Helene last week. But his experience with his Rivian R1T EV truck following Hurricane Helene — a storm that ravaged the southeast, including Cusick's home in Asheville, North Carolina — has cemented his position as a new Rivian convert. Cusick's Rivian in Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina earlier this year. A Rivian spokesperson told Inside EVs, which earlier reported on Cusick's truck, that Rivian battery packs are sealed to provide floodwater protection. The interior of Cusick's Rivian truck was kept dry during Hurricane Helene, Cusick told BI.

Anduril Industries debuted its AI-powered Bolt-M drone, which fits in a backpack. A new video shows the Bolt-M drone's AI abilities in action. Anduril Industries, cofounded in 2017 by Oculus founder Luckey, unveiled its Bolt and Bolt-M drones in a YouTube video on Thursday. The Bolt drone, seen in the video hovering above targets, is meant to use AI to autonomously track targets. The European-American giant Stellantis is the world's fifth-largest automaker by volume, according to S&P Global Mobility. But Stellantis did better than that. 2023 was a banner year: record sales, record profits, record free cash flow. Out of all brands in the U.S., Stellantis vehicles have some of the highest inventories of vehicles on dealer lots, according to Cox Automotive.
