CNN —President-elect Donald Trump named billionaire Scott Bessent as his pick to serve as the next secretary of the Department of the Treasury. A key Cabinet player, the US Treasury secretary advises the president on economic and fiscal matters, including spending and taxes. This may explain why two-and-a-half weeks into his transition, several of Trump’s Cabinet picks are embroiled in allegations of sexual misconduct, ethics or legal controversy.
