The end of “Succession” leaves a Waystar Royco-sized hole in our hearts. Bickering and jockeying abound, fueled by the mutually understood but outwardly denied reality that no one in the second generation is truly up to the task. The daughter is married to a bumbling oaf, whom she bullies with real glee. In “Succession,” the stakes are grave, but the characters approach them with flippancy; in “Gemstones,” the circumstances are absurd, but the characters take them incredibly seriously. If “Succession” is an ice bath, “The Righteous Gemstones” is a slip-n-slide, but the water is springing from the same source.
Finding a job right now isn't only tough, it's deeply weird. On a macro level, ghost-job postings contribute to a skewed sense of how many opportunities are really out there for US job seekers right now. Job platforms — including LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, Indeed, and Monster — also use language-processing AI tools to filter applicants. And now, generative AI tools like ChatGPT are contributing to job loss. Suddenly, knowing how to work with AI tools and resources is an important edge for job seekers to have.

Finding a job right now isn't only tough, it's deeply weird. On a Sunday afternoon, Rory Manns, 25, strolled into the park, soccer ball in hand. Located to the west of Downtown Los Angeles, the Vista Hermosa Natural Park is a pocket of rolling woodlands that cradle streams and lush meadows. It has always been a space of community, peppered with picnic areas, a playground and an amphitheater. Meeting at the park was therapeutic for the group, allowing them to express themselves and learn from one another in a safe, intimate space. “Just how affirming and natural and just how seen you feel in a friendship, how deep those connections are.
As a therapist and psychologist, I've spent 20 years hopping the fence between being caught in the drama and observing it. "I often have cravings for drama," one patient, who we'll call Helen, told me. Here are seven toxic signs of someone who is addicted to drama — and how to deal with them:1. You'll often find people who are addicted to drama consumed by what's happening in the lives of others. This is something all of us experience, but it's acute for those with a propensity for drama.

ATLANTA — Former President Donald J. Trump took part in a discussion about plans to access voting system software in Michigan and Georgia as part of the effort to challenge his 2020 election loss, according to testimony from former Trump advisers. The testimony, delivered to the House Jan. 6 committee, was highlighted on Friday in a letter to federal officials from a liberal-leaning legal advocacy group. Allies of Mr. Trump ultimately succeeded in copying the elections software in those two states, and the breach of voting data in Georgia is being examined by prosecutors as part of a broader criminal investigation into whether Mr. Trump and his allies interfered in the presidential election there. The former president’s participation in the discussion of the Georgia plan could increase his risk of possible legal exposure there. Mr. Lyons recounted that during the meeting, Rudolph W. Giuliani, then Mr. Trump’s personal attorney, opposed seizing voting machines and spoke of how the Trump campaign was instead “going to be able to secure access to voting machines in Georgia through means other than seizure,” and that the access would be “voluntary.”
It’s unclear what if any evidence he has in his possession related to the Coffee County breach. Penrose and Logan were also named in a state-level criminal investigation in Michigan alleging they participated in a conspiracy to seize voting machines there. A local election official helped them gain access to sensitive voting data which they downloaded onto a portable hard drive. Bundren was part of the team enlisted by Trump’s lawyers to find evidence of widespread voter fraud after the 2020 election. Bundren helped oversee the multi-state push to access voting machines on behalf of the Trump legal team, according to several documents obtained by CNN.
Beyond financial credits and rebates, many car shoppers don't know they may also be able to get a better deal on a car loan associated with an electric vehicle. These so-called green auto loans aren't necessarily well-advertised, so consumers need to do their homework. There's no difference between green auto loans and other car loans, other than that the borrower might be able to get a discount for purchasing an EV. A standard internal combustion car loan is set in 12-month increments from 24 months to 84 months, with 72 months typical. By contrast, green auto loans could extend the repayment beyond the standard timeframe, at favorable rates, he said.

A “good bag” at Augusta National would pay up to $5, Maben said, offering $20 for a particularly lucrative day’s labor. The 1983 Masters saw the first White caddies walk the greens at the major, with just 19 Black caddies on the bag, Clayton said. This year, the Lucy Craft Laney Museum will put the legacy of Augusta’s Black caddies – quite literally – center stage.

Insider's latest work-advice column is about how to handle the drama seekers in your office. I often feel myself drawn into it, and then I'm less productive and I have to work harder to make up for lost time. After all, we spend most of our waking hours at work, going to and from work, and thinking about work. You need to make a concerted effort to preserve your well-being, Lyons said. And for my fellow drama kings and queens, maybe it's time we hang up our crowns — at least some of the time.

WASHINGTON, March 9 (Reuters) - A dwarf elephant the size of a Shetland pony once roamed the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. They were examples of the "island effect," a rule in evolutionary biology describing how large-bodied species tend to downsize on islands while small-bodied species upsize. Extinction risk was seen highest among species that underwent more extreme body size shifts compared to mainland relatives. But small-bodied species, because there is a decreased risk from predators on islands, are emancipated from evolutionary constraints on their size. It once was home to a dwarf elephant relative, giant rats and a giant stork, as well as a dwarf human species - Homo floresiensis, nicknamed the "Hobbit," standing just 3-1/2 feet tall (106 cm) tall.

But be careful not to appear desperate.”Be consistent across platforms: Chances are you may announce your layoff on more than one social platform.
