I found this levered concept incredibly valuable when I ran other peoples' money at my hedge fund years ago. My first question to them, usually interjected, rudely, if I were bored or confused was: "What the heck is this business levered to?" Palo Alto Networks To understand this kind of leverage that I am talking about — as opposed to the kind that involves debt —let's start with something easy, let's start with the stock of Palo Alto Networks . We own Palo Alto because its fortunes are levered to something that has the most explosive growth of an industry I know: cybercrime. If we didn't own Palo Alto we would own CrowdStrike.

As of Tuesday's close, Broadcom had a market cap of $839 billion, right behind Eli Lilly's $845 billion and Berkshire's $882 billion. James Chance, No Wave and Punk-Funk Pioneer, Dies at 71

James Chance, the singer, saxophonist and composer who melded punk, funk and free jazz into bristling dance music as the leader of the Contortions, died on Tuesday in Manhattan. His brother, David Siegfried, said Mr. Chance had been in declining health for years and succumbed to complications of gastrointestinal disease at the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center in East Harlem. Contortions songs like “I Can’t Stand Myself” and “Throw Me Away” filled the rhythmic structures of James Brown’s funk with angular, dissonant riffs, to be topped by Mr. Chance’s yelping, blurting, screaming vocals and his trilling, squawking alto saxophone. He was a live wire onstage, with his own twitchy versions of moves adapted from Brown, Mick Jagger and his punk contemporaries.

New York CNN —The OpenAI co-founder who left the high-flying artificial intelligence startup last month has announced his next venture: a company dedicated to building safe, powerful artificial intelligence that could become a rival to his old employer. Ilya Sutskever announced plans for the new company, aptly named Safe Superintelligence Inc., in a post on X Wednesday. Sutskever then worked on Google’s AI research team, before helping to found what would become the maker of ChatGPT. It’s also not clear exactly what the new company thinks of as “safety” in the context of highly powerful artificial intelligence technology. “By safe, we mean safe like nuclear safety as opposed to safe as in ‘trust and safety,’” Sutskever told Bloomberg in an interview published Tuesday.

Here are 9 stocks that can benefit from Fed interest rate cuts
  + stars: | 2024-06-13 | by ( Zev Fima | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +7 min
Housing We see Stanley Black & Decker as a major beneficiary of Fed rate cuts due to its link to the housing market. On the one hand, lower rates mean a bank like Wells Fargo makes less money on the money it lends. Biotech Danaher should also see some benefit as lower rates lead to improved funding dynamics for biotech companies. Like in housing, monthly payments become far more manageable at lower rates, and therefore affordability and demand, stand to increase. Salesforce , which has also highlighted more measured deal activity, might not benefit as much from lower rates.

As the AI bubble turns into a mania and AI shifts to the cloud, many companies can benefit indirectly from this boom. Since that stock has already hit new highs, I am looking to participate in this sympathy move by using another cybersecurity darling, Palo Alto Networks (PANW) , as a proxy trade. A bullish price momentum accompanied by an increasing RSI indicates the strength of the move. The trade To bet bullish on PANW, the trade structure I have used here is called a "bull call spread". BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.
