REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/IllustrationNEW YORK, June 20 (Reuters) - Foreign-exchange investors are moving more of their over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives trades to lookalike products on exchanges to avoid higher costs due to recent global regulations, helping inject transparency into a multitrillion-dollar market that is largely hidden from the public eye. The gradual behavioral change in FX derivatives trading is being caused by increasing margin and collateral costs, said Joe Midmore, chief commercial officer at OpenGamma, a derivatives analytics firm. OTC derivatives are privately negotiated contracts while cleared derivatives, though bilaterally negotiated, are booked with a clearinghouse such as a listed exchange. "They will also incur the operational, legal and custody costs of setting up margin facilities as well as the capital costs of posting margin," Houston said. "There is inherently risk involved in lots of people transacting derivatives with each other," said Riddle.

The FTC is seeking a preliminary injunction to block Microsoft from completing its $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Microsoft's bid to acquire the "Call of Duty" video game maker was approved by the EU in May, but British competition authorities blocked the takeover in April. The FTC is calling Nadella to testify about the video game industry, Microsoft Gaming’s strategy and business and the planned Activision acquisition, while Microsoft is calling him to testify about similar topics. Also testifying are two executives from Nvidia Corp.Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer and Microsoft Gaming CFO Tim Stuart are also scheduled to testify, as are a number of expert witnesses.

Starting in December, Google will begin deleting accounts that have not been used in at least two years as part of an effort to address security risks, the company said on Tuesday. The expunging of old accounts does not only mean losing access to Gmail. Work in Google Docs, Google Workspace, Google Photos and other Google products will also be wiped out, as will any videos that an affected user has uploaded to YouTube. Ruth Kricheli, the company’s vice president of product management, said in a statement announcing the new policy that the move was intended to protect users from security threats because accounts that had not been used for a while were more likely to be comprised. An internal analysis at Google found that abandoned accounts were much less likely than active accounts to have two-factor verification, an authentication method that helps to confirm a user’s identity, the company said.
Google said the move is a safety measure to prevent unused accounts from being hacked. But many Gmail users have records still of value, even if they may not log in to access them regularly. To preserve old data, Google also suggested measures like moving the account's contents using its "Takeout" feature, or emailing out valuable information and data to other active accounts. Earlier this month, Elon Musk said that unused Twitter accounts could be erased (though he also added they'd be archived). The move prompted criticism, including from those who'd hoped to preserve the Twitter accounts of deceased loved ones.

Tesla trumped all other automakers in terms of overall brand loyalty in a recent study. Tesla has been able to keep a loyal fanbase, but some say Elon Musk might not keep his lead forever. Tesla also won segment model loyalty awards, including luxury small utility for the Model Y, and luxury small car, for the Model 3. Still, that might only go so far as Tesla loses EV market share. Tesla held 65.4% of the EV market in 2022, according to Experian.
Mentors can give us advice and guidance, helping us in ways that others, who are too close to the problem, never can. When I sought her advice, she didn't tell me where I should choose to go; instead, she gave me this kernel of wisdom. He advised me to defer my acceptance and try to get into business school instead. I was about to learn that the skills that make you a great individual contributor PM do not always make you a great manager. If you don't have a mentor, I highly recommend finding one (check out my last post on mentors for tips!).

The package cost $79.99 a month for the base option, or $149.99 a month for extra features, on top of a DirecTV subscription.

“Money market funds have become a much more interesting place,” says Jay McLaughlin, institutional sales manager for iMoneyNet, a research firm that follows the money market fund industry. How money market funds workThe first thing for investors to understand is that money market funds are mutual funds, not bank accounts. Municipal money market fundsMunicipal money market funds appeal to many high-income investors because of their tax-exempt nature. One popular muni money market fund is the $17 billion Vanguard Municipal money market Fund (VMSXX) and its current 7-day yield of 2.65%—a yield which on its face is lower than other fund types, but after taxes are considered, can actually be higher for some investors. How to get the best money market fund ratesTypically your stock trading platform may have a default money market fund for its clients, established at your initial sign-up, as a kind of placeholder to keep your cash.
