Investors should consider putting their money in Procter & Gamble amid the ongoing search for safety in this difficult macro climate, according to Wolfe Research. Analyst Greg Badishkanian initiated coverage of the consumer staple stock with an outperform rating and a $156 price target. "P & G's brand portfolio has delivered strong demand elasticities to date as they innovate and reinvest in the brands," he said. "We view their geographic exposure and balance sheet as defensive, which should support fund flows as investors flee to safety." Wolfe Research's price target implies an 8% upside from Monday's close.

Former Time Warner CEO Jeffrey Bewkes implied Netflix was overrated in a 2010 interview. A new book about HBO reveals that Netflix CEO Reed Hastings took the comments in stride. "We didn't have the financial flexibility to make that commitment," former HBO CEO Richard Plepler told the book's authors, Gillette and Koblin. In other words, Netflix wanted to be more like HBO and HBO's corporate overlords wanted it to be more like Netflix. HBO's content chief, Casey Bloys, was recently elevated to CEO of HBO, HBO Max, and HBO Content.
German chemicals maker Covestro (1COV.DE) lowered its 2022 earnings guidance for the third time this year, blaming gas and raw material prices. Gas prices in Europe have eased in response to an unusually warm October and projections of a mild winter. The group, which relies heavily on natural gas, is buying from outside Europe, where prices are lower. RACE TO CUT COSTSCompanies across Europe are racing to reduce their energy use ahead of the winter when demand increases as households turn up the heat. Chemical companies are among the hardest hit by the energy crisis because they use gas as a raw material for production and as an energy source.
CNN —New England Patriots starting quarterback Mac Jones was benched mid-game in his team’s 33-14 home defeat to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Jones had missed the past three games with a high ankle sprain but finally returned to the starting line-up to face the Bears. A New England Patriots fan holds a sign during the game against the Bears. In a style change from previous weeks, the Bears coaching staff implemented more designed runs for Fields to utilize his dynamism and keep the Patriots defense off-kilter. “I think that creates an issue sometimes for the defense, depending on what defense they’re in,” Eberflus said.
A couple walk with Hermes shopping bags as they leave an Hermes store in Paris March 21, 2013. Hermes (HRMS.PA) and Pernod Ricard (PERP.PA) both said they will continue to raise prices, after beating expectations in the July-September quarter. Mainland China also saw a strong rebound after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, although some restrictions have since been reimposed. PRICE RISESThe world's biggest luxury group LVMH (LVMH.PA) last week kicked off the earnings season with forecast-beating sales -- and no signs of a let-up in demand. The results from Pernod and Hermes bode well for beauty giant L'Oreal (OREP.PA) and Gucci-owner Kering (PRTP.PA), which both report results later on Thursday.

The book, set for release on Nov. 1, alleges that Albrecht lunged at and strangled Emerson. In the book, Albrecht states that he “rejects and disagrees with the characterization of what occurred” in the 1991 incident. The book also describes Emerson’s professional struggles in entertainment after leaving HBO with a confidential settlement as rumors spread. Before joining Legendary in 2019, Albrecht had served a 10-year tenure as the chief of pay cabler Starz.
Dude Wipes expanded into deodorant and body wash — something the brand now says was the wrong move. In 2019, the founders of Dude Wipes took what they thought was a major step forward: They extended their brand from solely toilet wipes into body wash and deodorant. So far, Dude Products has eschewed most investors. When COVID struck, demand for the brand's signature Dude Wipes took off. "When the toilet-paper rush happened, everybody's buying as many Dude Wipes as they can get from us," Riley said.

Supply & Demand — free market On the Y-axis (the vertical one on the left) we have price. The demand line slopes from the upper left to the bottom right, and the supply line goes from the bottom left to the upper right. To illustrate this tight supply, we shift our supply line to the left as moving left on the X-axis indicates a lower quantity of supply. Supply & Demand — supply constrained market As we can see above, this small shift in supply — with no change in demand — creates a new equilibrium point at which we see a higher price level (P2). Supply & Demand — supply constrained with demand destruction By lowering demand, we can reach a new equilibrium level (marked in red).

Now seen as a largely successful deal — Bleacher Report frequently tops category giant ESPN when it comes to social media interactions — at the time there were plenty of skeptics. Jacobs sees an opportunity to re-run the same Bleacher Report playbook in the entertainment category. And it's also hired a slew of professional writers and video producers from companies such as Variety, YouTube and yes, Bleacher Report. "In a way, we'd already done the heaviest lifting a media company has to do, which is to build scale," said CEO Craig Palmer. "For the first six to eight years, we just scaled and scaled and scaled and scaled thanks to our users.
