Walmart has sold menswear brand Bonobos to brand management firm WHP Global and Express in a $75 million deal announced Thursday. WHP, which took a 60% stake in Express in December, will acquire the Bonobos brand for $50 million, the company said in a news release. In a statement, a Walmart spokesperson said the company decided "it's the right time to sell Bonobos" after nearly six years. Last February, Bonobos launched Bonobos Fielder – a more affordable riff on the original brand that sold athleisure on its website, Walmart.com and select Walmart stores. Bonobos CEO John Hutchinson will become brand president of Bonobos and report to Baxter after the deal closes.
Companies with strong balance sheets have a downside cushion and can find unique opportunities during a slowing economy, according to Morgan Stanley. Corporations with high amounts of cash on their balance sheets can take advantage of a slowing economy by buying back their stock or acquiring businesses at discounted prices, said Morgan Stanley strategist Todd Castagno. "We've identified companies with strong balance sheets and sufficient liquidity, that also generate excess returns over their cost of capital," Castagno said in a note to clients. Investors have been increasingly focused on the strength of corporate balance sheets amid rising concerns that the Federal Reserve's series of interest rate hikes could tip the U.S. economy into a slowdown or recession. Castagno screened the Russell 1000 , except for financials, real estate and utilities, to find companies with fortress-like balance sheets.

The company plans to spin off its renal care and acute therapies units into a separate listed entity in the next 12-18 months. Dialysis operations, which are a part of Baxter's renal care unit, are a drag on the parent company's margins today, said Chief Financial Officer James Saccaro. Nov 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. health regulator on Wednesday classified the recall of hospital bed systems by Baxter International Inc (BAX.N), as the most serious type, on concerns it could lead to life-threatening injuries or death. In the letter, Baxter warned users about the potential for WatchCare's radio frequencies to interfere with other medical devices. Baxter, which makes smart hospital beds, recalled 8,550 WatchCare devices distributed between Aug. 1, 2018 and Sept. 1, 2022. The recall was based on 96 reported complaints of interference with no reports of injuries or death related to the product, the FDA said. Good balance is an integral part of being physically fit and key to living a long life, according to research. Practice standing next to a chair or something you can grab onto if you become unsteady. Walking up stairs is another easy way to enhance your balance, Baxter said, as part of good balance lies in a strong lower body. “When you have good balance, you move around with less fear and more flexibility,” Landau said, adding that a fear of falling makes you stiff and stressed — and thus more likely to fall. “Good balance improves your general mobility, so you’ll move more and your muscles and bones will get stronger,” Landau said.

Pharmacies across the United States are reporting shortages of one of the most widely used antibiotics, raising concerns that the medication will be in short supply for the upcoming winter season. Three key amoxicillin manufacturers — Hikma Pharmaceuticals, headquartered in the United Kingdom; Sandoz, based in Switzerland; and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., headquartered in Israel — are reporting shortages of the antibiotic, according to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, which maintains a database of drug shortages. Because amoxicillin is an antibiotic, it is not used to treat infections caused by viruses, such as Covid, the flu or RSV (respiratory syncytial virus). Pharmacists said they are worried if the shortage lingers through the winter, when infections can surge and antibiotic use typically increases. “However, there are a number of factors that can cause or contribute to drug shortages that are out of the FDA’s control.
