No one knows,” Zak told CNN at a military camp not far from the Gaza border. Their unit is part of a massive buildup of Israeli troops and military material on the Gaza border. But a spokesman for the IDF told CNN on Saturday that while they try to avoid civilian casualties, they are inevitable in urban warfare. Rabbi Yitzhak, a military rabbi, has been traveling around the Gaza border, visiting troops and offering his encouragement. He and the other young men he served with have been reunited near the Gaza border, training for what’s to come next – whatever that may be.

Multiple Wall Street analysts are sticking by their bullish calls on Blackstone despite a disappointing third quarter, telling investors that now is the time to buy the stock. Shares of Blackstone fell nearly 8% on Thursday after earnings and revenue came in short of estimates, according to FactSet's StreetAccount. BX 3M mountain Blackstone's stock has fallen sharply over the past month. But Oppenheimer analyst Chris Kotowski said in a note to clients Friday that the move in the alternative asset manager's stock is an overreaction and that investors should buy the dip. President Biden and his top aides have been urging Israeli leaders against carrying out any major strike against Hezbollah, the powerful militia in Lebanon, that could draw it into the Israel-Hamas war, American and Israeli officials say. The Americans are conveying to the Israelis the difficulties of battling both Hamas in the south and a much more powerful Hezbollah force in the north. U.S. officials believe Israel would struggle in a two-front war and that such a conflict could draw in both the United States and Iran, the militia’s main supporter. American officials want to rein in Hezbollah too. U.S. officials feared that Mr. Netanyahu might approve a pre-emptive strike on Hezbollah in the immediate aftermath of the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas, which killed more than 1,400 people.

An overly negative reception to clinical results could mean investors are missing out on potential upside for Syndax Pharmaceuticals , according to Goldman Sachs. The investment bank initiated coverage of the biopharmaceutical company on Wednesday with a buy rating, setting a 12-month price target of $30. This implies potential upside of 137% from the stock's Tuesday closing price of $12.65. The Philippines is a deeply Christian country and the Catholic Church maintains significant influence both in daily life and politics. Social media videos of drag queen Pura Luka Vega singing to a rock version of The Lord's Prayer while dressed as Jesus became a topic of debate in the Philippines. Multiple politicians, including senators, also went on Philippine television shows to criticize the drag artist’s performance, calling it blasphemous, disrespectful and offensive. ‘Denied my rights’The drag artist has previously apologized to those who “felt uncomfortable” about their performance. But Secillano stopped short of commenting whether the church viewed Pagente’s arrest as the right thing to do to defend the faith.

We started buying semiconductor giant Broadcom (AVGO) last month and added to our position a few times since it reported fiscal third-quarter results Aug. 31. Indeed, the Thursday morning sell-off in Broadcom, which was down 4.3% at its intraday lows, is an overreaction. While Broadcom's AI revenue is growth is growing incredibly fast, the rest of its semiconductor business is stabilizing after working through its post-Covid inventory gluts. In fact, with the additional of VMware, Broadcom's companywide revenues will be about half semiconductor and half software. Value investing can be challenging, humbling, and even lonely, as fund manager Sam Peters has learned over the last three decades. Markets are usually efficient, Peters acknowledged, meaning that stocks usually trade near their fair value. Thanks to this method, Peters' portfolio often has an unconventional combination of companies that offers diversification with the potential to compound abnormally large returns over time. Peters added: "I think we're going to be in a higher nominal rate environment, higher inflation environment, higher rate environment. Such a setup would favor value stocks over their growth peers, Peters said.

Founders say VCs are increasingly demanding detailed data and visibility into their startups before considering a deal. But some in the industry say that for early stage startups, a reliance on data can create an illusion of certainty. Half a dozen early stage startup founders tell Insider that gone are the days when a good idea and flashy pitch deck were enough to close a deal. He described it as looking for "the golden playbook for investing in early stage startups." For his part Hasan says that when speaking to potential investors, he views an obsession with financials and data as a red flag.

Looking at historical data since 2016 from the 10 trading sessions before the annual product event and then through year-end, here's how Apple has performed each year. It's worth noting the difference in phrasing I'm using here: bad managers vs. great leaders. They may have the title, but all the best work gets done when everyone works together — themselves included. The best leaders make everything all about the objective — not about titles and rank, not about you or me, but about the shared goal. Great leaders work hard to make the whole greater than the sum of the parts. Here, too, great leaders recognize the power of their positions.

The ban comes under the Printing Presses and Publications Act, the ministry added. ‘Political punching bag’Rights groups say the LGBTQ community faces growing intolerance in Malaysia and accuse the government of being at least partly to blame. “It showcases an alarming trend where symbols of pride and acts of solidarity with the LGBTQ community are met with harsh and disproportionate government responses,” Dhia said. FBI agents shot and killed an armed Utah man accused of threatening President Joe Biden. Craig Deleeuw Robertson was armed when agents arrived to serve a search warrant. Biden was expected to to visit Utah around the time the threats were made, per court documents. Robertson was charged under seal Tuesday with three felony counts, including making threats against the president, court documents show. Clark said Robertson had a collection of about 20 guns, though he noted that that wasn't unusual for the area.

Nevertheless, the ferocity of the backlash was striking, suggesting a brittle political denial about Israel’s increasingly authoritarian, jingoistic turn. “Israel is not a state of all its citizens,” Netanyahu wrote in 2019. Today, there are nearly equal numbers of Jews and Palestinian Arabs living in Israel and the occupied territories. But even Palestinian citizens of Israel face legal as well as social discrimination. Microsoft (MSFT) updated plans to expand further into cybersecurity this week, creating chaos in pure-play vendors like Club name Palo Alto Networks (PANW). We think that decline was an overreaction and the bounce since shows that investors have come to realize that Microsoft's moves pose little threat to cybersecurity leader Palo Alto. Bottom line We believe Palo Alto will stay the cybersecurity leader regardless of Microsoft's announcement. Coterra Energy (CTRA): At roughly 10 times forward earnings, Jim said he'd classify Coterra shares as dirt cheap. Estee Lauder (EL): We're downgrading Estee Lauder to a 2 rating Wednesday, meaning we're no longer recommending investors buy the stock at current levels. But we're sticking with Estee Lauder because eventually we expect China's economy to turn around, and with it EL's stock price. Of all the things that could inflame tensions in a region that could someday be a theater of war between superpowers, the movie “Barbie” was not an obvious catalyst. The authorities in Vietnam this week banned the upcoming Greta Gerwig film over a map in “Barbie” that they said shows a Chinese map of territory in the South China Sea, where the two neighbors have competing claims. The Philippines, another Southeast Asian country that disputes China’s territorial claims in the sea, is now deciding whether to ban the star-studded film as well. And Vietnam said on Thursday that it was investigating a South China Sea map on the website of a company promoting Blackpink, a K-pop band scheduled to perform in Hanoi this month. But Vietnam’s responses make more sense if they are viewed within historical and political contexts.
