China has, in its own way, signaled it wants to support specific kinds of consumer purchases. Authorities on Thursday announced the equivalent of 300 billion yuan ($41.5 billion) in special bonds would go towards trade-ins and equipment upgrades — a significant expansion of an existing program. The 300 billion yuan ultra-long bond issuance is not a new government allocation, but rather a more detailed designation of a 1 trillion yuan ultra-long bond program announced earlier this year. "300 billion yuan is the largest equipment upgrade subsidy from the central government historically," the analysts said. Even the 300 billion yuan figure is split roughly between consumer-related trade-ins with business-side equipment upgrades.

Nvidia 's slump is hitting some technical milestones that suggest the stock could continue to slide, according to Raymond James. Raymond James chart analyst Javed Mirza said in a July 25 note to clients that Nvidia has triggered a "mechanical sell" signal based on a moving average convergence/divergence indicator, or " MACD ," which measures price momentum — and it is not the only technical signal flashing sell. The key level to watch is Nvidia's 50-day moving average, currently around $118 per share, according to Mirza. "A multi-day close below important technical support at the 50-day moving average … would confirm a new short-term corrective phase was underway. If that view spreads to executives at Big Tech companies such as Alphabet, it could result in new orders for Nvidia slowing down.

Investors could be "significantly" undervaluing CAE stock, a Canadian aerospace training and simulation company, according to Goldman Sachs. In a recent report, the Wall Street investment bank reiterated a buy rating on CAE, which operates two primary businesses: civil aviation and defense. In the report, Poponak analyzed both CAE's civil aviation and defense businesses in isolation and compared to competitors. The civil aviation segment's growth and margin profile isn't accurately reflected in CAE's current valuation multiple, the analyst added.
