EUFOR replaced NATO troops in Bosnia in 2004 with a mandate to stabilise the ethnically divided country. Last year, days after Russia invaded Ukraine, the EU decided to almost double the size of its peacekeeping force from 600 troops by sending in reserves to ward off any potential instability. A video circulating Tuesday appears to show a destroyed Challenger-2 tank in Ukraine. If confirmed, it would be the first time the tank has been destroyed, and a symbolic win for Russia. The Challenger-2 is a British tank, and the 14 Ukraine received in a recent aid package are among its strongest Western-donated weapons. —🇺🇦 Ukraine Weapons Tracker (@UAWeapons) September 5, 2023The loss has not been officially confirmed, and representatives for Ukraine's Ministry of Defense did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
