Mr. Yang, 32, and Mr. Rogers, 33, were both 7 when they watched “Titanic” dominate the 1998 Oscars. “The glam factor and the accessibility for three hours to all these huge stars in one room was very exciting at the time,” Mr. Rogers said. The two met as freshmen at New York University and both ventured into comedy; Mr. Yang joined “Saturday Night Live,” and Mr. Rogers performed with the Upright Citizens Brigade. As their careers took off, they discovered that award shows were not as glamorous as they had once appeared. ARE WE in the middle of rosé malaise? According to the retailers I talked with, the answer is yes…with an asterisk. Thanks to the rise of competing drinks (hard seltzer, canned cocktails), continuing Covid fallout and a boom in production all over the world that helped fuel a rosé glut, rosé sales are definitely less robust than in years past. Yet certain rosés are selling well. Indeed, some wines seem to be veritably malaise-proof.

June 14 (Reuters) - Anheuser-Busch InBev's (ABI.BR) Bud Light has lost its top spot in the U.S. beer market to Constellation Brands' (STZ.N) Modelo Especial, following a backlash from conservatives over a social media promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday gave investors his take on Cava, the popular fast-casual Mediterranean chain that's expected to go public this week. "And, please, if you do want to buy Cava in the aftermarket, I'm begging you, please use limit orders, not market orders, protect yourself. In fact, you should always be using limit orders, because you have no control over the price you pay with market orders." Cramer said he expects underwriters to underprice Cava shares at first in order to engineer "a nice first-day pop." Cramer also warned investors about the pitfalls of the IPO market in general, with most following a similar cycle.

Sock-It-to-Me Cake for Your Summer Celebrations

Also on Millie’s lovely menu — fit for any summer celebration — is a sticky, savory, caramelized baked chicken with hibiscus barbecue sauce that singes at the edges in the oven. Millie pairs the chicken with hush puppies made from a buttermilk cornmeal batter, and a tangy-sweet chow chow that swaps in watermelon for the usual summer vegetables. But that’s not the only neat thing about Millie’s chow chow. The recipe makes more syrup than you need, so save the extra for stirring into cocktails and seltzer, or drizzling over strawberries and raspberries. Sporting a filling enhanced with fresh ginger and a crust spiked with cracked pepper, this summer classic walks the line between savory and sweet.

"Psychedelic Water?" Despite the name, Psychedelic Water doesn't include LSD or psilocybin and definitely won't make you hallucinate. The main side effect I experienced while drinking Psychedelic Water was an occasional tingling sensation on my tongue and minor stomach pains. Psychedelic Water was one of the previously unheard-of brands that took off on social media during this time. Psychedelic Water is available in four flavors: hibiscus lime, blackberry yuzu, oolong orange blossom, and prickly pear.

A century ago, before it was called sparkling water or club soda, and before it was sold as LaCroix and Spindrift, it was called seltzer. Nearly all those seltzer men are gone now; one seltzer works remains. In an industrial space in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Seltzer Boys factory is known among industry insiders, certain foodies and seltzer fans, but that’s about it. Originally called Gomberg Seltzer Works, the business was started in 1953 in Canarsie, Brooklyn, by Moe Gomberg, Mr. Gomberg’s great-grandfather. After nearly closing for good during the pandemic, Brooklyn Seltzer moved and (somewhat) modernized its factory, introducing a visitable space called the Brooklyn Seltzer Museum.
Prebiotic soda maker Olipop is set to cross $200 million in annual sales this year, just five years after it arrived on grocery store shelves. Olipop had raised $55.4 million as of Jan. 2, at a reported valuation of $199.8 million, according to Pitchbook data. Consumers are also increasingly interested in "gut health," one of the latest wellness trends. Both Olipop and Poppi have leaned into influencer marketing on TikTok, where gut health became a trending topic last year. But Olipop's Goodwin is confident that consumers are willing to pay more for the drinks he formulates.
Why skinny soda cans are everywhere

Drink manufacturers are aiming to distinguish their products on crowded shelves and save money on shipping and packaging with skinny cans, say analysts and drink makers. The can, presented at New York’s Fashion Week, had the tagline: “The New Skinny.” It was widely criticized as offensive and the National Eating Disorders Association said the company’s comments were both “thoughtless and irresponsible.”White Claw's skinny white cans have brought along copycats. Red Bull was one of the first brands to popularize slim cans, and White Claw saw success with its hard seltzer in thin white cans. skinny cans on store shelves, warehouse pallets and trucks than wider cans, said Dave Fedewa, a partner at McKinsey who consults for retail and consumer packaged goods companies. But the key, Fedewa said, is that skinny cans catch the eye: “It’s funny how much growth that can drive in retail.”

White Claw is moving into spirits amid an industry-wide shift away from hard seltzers. The spiked seltzer brand announced Tuesday a new line of regular and flavored White Claw Premium Vodka. The bottles are available in select markets across North America and come in an unflavored option, as well pineapple, mango and black cherry. "We spent almost a decade researching and developing a new way to show drinkers what complexity looks, tastes, and feels like within the minimalist experience of vodka," said Anthony von Mandl, founder and chief executive of the Mark Anthony Group, which owns the White Claw brand, in a press release. The company says it's invented a new way to filter vodka to achieve a "minimal yet complex combination of aromas and sensations."
