South Africa won seven of their eight scrums while England could only won three of their seven, and that eventually gave the defending champions the decisive momentum. England have not scored a try against South Africa at a World Cup since the pool phase in 2003. South Africa are current world champions and world number ones for a reason," Borthwick said. It was the second match in a row that South Africa won by a single point after prevailing 29-28 against hosts France last weekend.

Speaking to French outlet CNews on Monday, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin accused Benzema of having connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, a religious and political group which France considers a terrorist organization. And in recent weeks, I’ve been particularly interested, Mr. Benzema is linked, we all know it, notoriously with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is a religious and political group founded on the belief that Islam is not simply a religion, but a way of life. The Muslim Brotherhood officially rejects the use of violent means to secure its goals. There is no evidence that the Muslim Brotherhood has any connection to Hamas’ attack on Israel.

REUTERS/Sarah Meyssonnier/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsFRANKFURT, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Euro zone households see inflation staying slightly above the European Central Bank's 2% target for another three years, an ECB survey showed, as rate-setters struggle to convince the public that their plans for taming price pressures are on track. While consumer expectations for inflation are by nature imprecise, they can influence wage demands, spending and saving. Consumers' views about inflation in the coming 12 months showed a slight increase to 3.5%, from 3.4% in July. The ECB has said that long-term inflation expectations from economists, investors and consumers are "at around 2%", but cautioned that some projections have risen and should be monitored. But they turned more optimistic about their income - seen growing by 1.2% from 1.1% - and raised their predictions for home price inflation, to 2.3% from 2.1%, for the first time since March.

Strained France-Germany ties slow EU decision making

From joint defence programmes to nuclear energy or relations with China, Paris and Berlin are at odds over a growing number of issues. In an August speech Macron made his frustration public, calling Germany's position on nuclear energy "a historic mistake". Germany decided to phase out nuclear energy after Japan's Fukushima disaster in 2011, closing its last reactors in April. It is unclear if France and Germany can hash out a deal in Hamburg ahead of a crucial EU energy meeting on Oct. 17, but analysts are doubtful. Although the concept was criticised for having failed with Russia, German officials believe trade ties with a country like China could prevent conflict.

The International Olympic Committee has awarded the 2032 Games to Brisbane, while there are already several interested potential candidates for the 2036 Games. "From everything the EOC saw there, Poland is well qualified to host the Olympic Games too," Arat said. The IOC usually awards the summer Olympics at least seven years in advance. "The increase in the ECB key interest rate by 450 basis points in the meantime is slowing down the economy in all euro countries." JPMorgan had handled some Russian grain export payments for a few months with reassurances from Washington. However, that cooperation stopped in early August, said Russia's Foreign Ministry, after Moscow quit the Black Sea grain deal in July. UNDERMINING U.N. EFFORTSU.N. To convince Russia to agree to the Black Sea deal, U.N. officials agreed to help Russian exports reach global markets. French retailers have criticised consumer goods giants like Unilever and Nestle for price hikes they say are unjustified. The government has also put pressure on the consumer goods makers to cut prices. "We should probably be able to demand that the big (consumer goods) groups cut prices by between 2% and 5%," he said. Consumer goods firms are likely to face increased pressure across Europe to cut prices, industry experts say. Lawmakers also asked about buying alliances, which some supermarkets use to negotiate prices jointly with peers at the European level, and whether they enable retailers to evade French regulations on pricing.
