New York CNN —Tickets for this year’s highly anticipated World Series between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers are set to be the most expensive ever. Tickets for the 2023 Series, in which the Texas Rangers clinched their first championship, cost about $776 on average across five games, TickPick said. The previous most expensive World Series was in 2016 between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland, when the average ticket cost $1,691. It’s also the first time in more than four decades that the Yankees and Dodgers will meet in the World Series, since a 1981 matchup. The Yankees have won the most World Series championships at 27, while the Dodgers won the World Series four years ago and have won seven championships total.

The task in front of the New York Mets is simple to state and incredibly complex to execute: Beat the Los Angeles Dodgers twice. Through the first five games of the NLCS, Mets starters are getting a called strike or whiff on just 23.8 percent of pitches. It’s obvious the Mets need a solid start from Manaea to win Game 6; they’re not equipped to win a bullpen battle with Los Angeles’ rested relief corps. The Dodgers bullpen isn’t bulletproofOn the surface, the Dodgers going with a bullpen game on Sunday may put the matchup in the Mets’ favor, considering New York plans to start Manaea, its best pitcher. CNN —An 18-year-old has filed a lawsuit over the ownership of the ball Shohei Ohtani made baseball history with when he became the inaugural member of the 50-50 club. The ball had been put up for auction by auctioneers Goldin, with bids starting at $500,000 and collectors able to purchase it privately outright for $4.5 million. Both Belanski and Kelvin Ramirez indicated on social media that they intended to sell the ball, per the filing. In December 2002, a San Francisco judge ordered the two men to sell the ball and split the proceeds. The ball was eventually sold to comic book creator and producer Todd McFarlane who paid $450,000 for it.
