CNN —A woman in Massachusetts who had been missing for a week was found Monday stuck in the mud at a state park, police said. On Monday, Tetewsky was found in nearby Borderland State Park, about 30 miles south of Boston, by hikers who said they heard a woman screaming for help in a swamp-like area, police said. When officers arrived they heard Tetewsky, but police said they couldn’t see her. Three officers waded 50 feet from the shore, through thick brush and swamp, to get to Tetewsky, according to police. “Utilizing ATV’s, Easton PD undertook rescue efforts to reach Emma and free her as she was stuck in the mud for several days,” police said.

CNN —Gunfire erupted just before midnight Monday in Fort Worth, Texas, leaving at least three dead and eight others wounded, police said. Ten of the victims are adults and one a minor, according to a news release from the Fort Worth Police Department’s homicide unit. CNN —Four people were killed and two minors – ages 2 and 13 – were injured in a shooting Monday evening in southwestern Philadelphia, police said. A second person – who may have picked up someone’s gun and returned fire – also was in custody, Outlaw said. About 50 spent shell casings litter the shooting scenes, Outlaw said. At least 339 mass shootings have happened in the US so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The archive, like CNN, defines a mass shooting as one in which four or more people are shot, not including the shooter.

CNN —Robert Philip Hanssen, who received payments of $1.4 million in cash and diamonds for the information he gave the Soviet Union and Russia, has died, the Federal Bureau of Prisons announced Monday. Hanssen had been in custody at Colorado’s USP Florence ADMAX since July 17, 2002. “On Monday, June 5, 2023, at approximately 6:55 am, inmate Robert Hanssen was found unresponsive at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Florence ADMAX in Florence, Colorado,” a release from the Federal Bureau of Prisons said. In 2001, Hanssen pleaded guilty to 15 counts of espionage and conspiracy in exchange for the government not seeking the death penalty. Investigators accused him of compromising dozens of Soviet personnel who were working for the United States, some of whom were executed.

CNN —A passenger who was asked to leave a Frontier Airlines plane departing from Denver was later cited for striking an airline employee with an intercom phone, according to the airline and police. While Frontier Airlines Flight 708 awaited an early Sunday departure to Tampa from Denver International Airport, the airline’s main hub, the female passenger “became belligerent onboard and was asked to deplane,” the statement said. “As she was deplaning, she picked up an intercom phone and struck a flight attendant with it.”In a statement to CNN, the Denver Police Department said the passenger was cited for assault in connection with the incident. The flight left for Tampa around 5:30 a.m. local time, after the woman was removed from the plane, according to Frontier. The Federal Aviation Authority has received reports of at least 670 unruly airline passengers in 2023 as of May 14, the US transportation agency’s statistics showed.
CNN —Two adults have been charged after a 7-year-old brought a gun to a Grand Rapids, Michigan, elementary school, authorities said Tuesday. In January, a teacher at an elementary school in Newport News, Virginia, was shot by a 6-year-old student who brought a gun to school in his backpack, police said. “To see an 8-year-old walk into school with a loaded gun shortly thereafter was astounding to me.”The loaded gun was found inside a third grader’s backpack at Stocking Elementary School, CNN affiliate WXMI reported. The gun discoveries on school grounds prompted the school district to announce a ban on bringing backpacks to school. Another Michigan school district, Flint Community Schools, also banned backpacks as of May 1, citing safety concerns.
New York CNN —Two 10-year-old children were found working at a Louisville McDonald’s restaurant — sometimes until 2 a.m. — the US Department of Labor said Tuesday. The revelation was part of an investigation into the child labor law violations in the Southeast. “Investigators from the department’s Wage and Hour Division found two 10-year-old workers at a Louisville McDonald’s restaurant among many violations of federal labor laws committed by three Kentucky McDonald’s franchise operators,” the release said. “Investigators also determined two 10-year-old children were employed – but not paid – and sometimes worked as late as 2 a.m.”The three franchisees face a combined $212,754 in civil money penalties for the child labor violations, the release said. “Under no circumstances should there ever be a 10-year-old child working in a fast-food kitchen around hot grills, ovens and deep fryers.”

The friend told investigators that Koenig participated in “destructive behavior” and liked “causing ‘chaos,’” the affidavits said. Karol-Chik told investigators he and Kwak “both collected rocks, and that all three of them threw rocks at moving cars,” the affidavits said.
CNN —Disgraced R&B singer and convicted sex trafficker R. Kelly has been transferred to a federal prison in North Carolina. R. Kelly, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was moved to FCI Butner Medium I, a “medium security federal correctional institution,” according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. The Butner complex sits north of the Raleigh-Durham area and includes two medium security facilities, a low-security facility and a medical facility. He was already serving a 30-year sentence on racketeering and sex trafficking charges after being convicted in New York in September 2021. “Numerous seated jurors were either familiar with accusations that Defendant had a history of sexually abusing underage girls, had previously faced legal problems, and/or had seen the highly unflattering docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, in which several government witnesses had appeared,” a brief filed last Wednesday said.
CNN —A 13-year-old in Ohio has died after “he took a bunch of Benadryl,” trying a dangerous TikTok challenge that’s circulating online, according to a CNN affiliate and a GoFundMe account from his family. Jacob Stevens was participating in a TikTok challenge with some friends at home when he ingested the antihistamine, the family donation account states. Overdosing on Benadryl can result in “serious heart problems, seizures, coma, or even death,” the US Food and Drug Administration said in a 2020 warning to the public about the deadly “Benadryl Challenge” on TikTok. In a statement to CNN, TikTok said, “Our deepest sympathies go out to the family. At TikTok, we strictly prohibit and remove content that promotes dangerous behavior with the safety of our community as a priority.
CNN —The parties involved in a lawsuit brought by an undisclosed woman accusing former “Saturday Night Live” star Horatio Sanz of sexual assault two decades ago have agreed to dismiss the case, according to court records from the Supreme Court of New York. Both Sanz and NBC Universal, the parent company of “SNL,” had been named as defendants in the lawsuit. In her 2021 lawsuit, the woman said Sanz began grooming her when she was around 14 and sexually assaulted her when she was 17 years old, according to court documents. Sanz previously denied the allegations, with his attorney saying they were “categorically false.” CNN has reached out to NBC Universal for comment. Sanz was an “SNL” cast member from 1998 to 2006 and was the show’s first Latino cast member, according to IMDB.
(CNN) It's been a rough few weeks for Post Malone. He was forced to cancel a planned show in Boston after experiencing breathing problems and stabbing pain, he wrote. "Today I woke up to cracking sounds on the right side of my body," he wrote in the statement. "I'm having a very difficult time breathing, and there's like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move," he went on. Post Malone said he was back in the hospital and was unable to perform in Boston due to his ongoing pain.
CNN —Rapper Post Malone suffered a fall and bruised his ribs on Saturday when he fell through an opening in the stage during his performance in St. Louis, according to his manager. “We did X-rays @ hospital after the show & they declared he had bruised his ribs!”Post Malone was performing at the Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis when he fell. After about 10 minutes, Post Malone got up with help from others, and went to take a break, according to Cantrell.
