In a tiny Kentucky town, Maker's Mark produces one of America's most famous bourbon whiskeys. Known worldwide for its bottles' iconic red wax, the company sells over 3 million cases of bourbon each year. But bourbon making is a complicated process that depends on special wooden barrels to age the whiskey for years, and the oak trees needed to make those barrels aren't growing enough to support the next generation of bourbon makers. We visited Maker's Mark's one and only distillery to learn more about making bourbon and what the company is doing to stop the industry from facing a barrel shortage. This story is available exclusively to Business Insider subscribers.

CNN has reached out to Pelosi’s camp and the Biden campaign for comment on this reporting. In a twist for the left-leaning Ocasio-Cortez, her comments make her among the more forceful pro-Biden voices in the party right now. Many progressives, including Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., are primarily driven by policy goals and know they have Biden's ear. The strategist said part of the reason progressives like Ocasio-Cortez are backing Biden is the "bird in hand phenomenon" — there's a "comfort level" with Biden in the White House. US President Joe Biden speaks at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center grand opening ceremony in New York on June 28, 2024. The Biden campaign has raised $27 million starting from the day of the first presidential debate through Friday evening, a campaign spokesperson announced on Saturday. The Biden campaign, the Democratic National Convention, and Biden PACs and committees jointly raised $85 million in May, lagging behind Trump's $141 million haul in the same month that the former president was convicted on 34 felony charges. The Biden campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment about how much of this new fundraising came from grassroots donors online versus higher-dollar donors. Biden supporters, including former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have tried to spin the debate by recognizing, rather than ignoring the president's debate blunders while also asking voters to look past them.

The three triathlon events will span from July 30 to Aug. 5, while the marathon swimming races will be on Aug. 8 and 9. The latest findings marked the third consecutive week that samples from the river had unsafe levels of bacteria related to fecal matter. The story said part of the strategy involved Zuckerberg posting more lighthearted content to help rehab his image, and cited a video he had posted of himself riding a hydrofoil while holding an American flag. In those messages, you can see how the PR team agonized over Zuckerberg's desire to post a zinger about the misidentified hydrofoil. Nick Clegg, head of public policy at Meta, was also strongly against Mark posting something flippant about the hydrofoil.
