In a career that spanned more than 50 years, Ashton was a regular face across TV series and films, including “Midnight Run,” “Little Big League” and “Gone Baby Gone.”But in the “Beverly Hills Cop” films, Ashton played an essential part of an indelible trio. North Carolina's Research Triangle is one of the fastest-growing areas in the U.S., with a population that's boomed by 5.6% since 2020 to 2.4 million people, according to Census data. The area, also known simply as "The Triangle," is anchored by Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill and their major universities: North Carolina State University, Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. And in that 50 years, North Carolina has totally restructured its economy," said Michael Walden Reynolds, an economics professor at North Carolina State University. The Triangle region has about 4,000 tech and 600 life science companies, and more than 300 companies are headquartered in RTP alone, according to the Research Triangle Regional Partnership and Work In The Triangle. A chance finding of bones in a cave is revealing clues of a much older tragic mystery. The once-in-a-lifetime find, nicknamed Thorin after a character in “The Hobbit,” has puzzled researchers for nearly a decade. The gruesome discovery was made at a farm in Belgium by Waterloo Uncovered, a UK charity that combines archaeology with veteran care. CNN —A newly unveiled sculpture of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and two corgis in Northern Ireland, intended to pay tribute to the late monarch, has received somewhat mixed reviews from the public. The sculpture was unveiled in Antrim Castle Gardens on September 6. Antrim Castle Gardens“Could be anyone,” wrote one commenter on a Facebook post from the council announcing the work’s unveiling. The sculpture, among the first work commemorating the late Queen in the United Kingdom, was created by artist Anto Brennan as a commission from Antrim and Newtonabbey Borough Council. It was installed in Antrim Castle Gardens, about 19 miles (30 kilometers) north of Belfast, and unveiled on Friday.
