CNN —A 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196 Streamliner valued between $50-70 million is among the historic cars set to be sold by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. “These vehicles will be some of the world’s most significant cars ever sold,” Gord Duff, global head of auctions at RM Sotheby’s, said in the statement. The cars will be sold at different events late this year and in 2025, according to the statement. In 2022, a very rare 1955 Mercedes-Benz SLR coupe that had been kept in the German automaker’s collection was sold to a private buyer for €135 million ($142 million at the time). “The Ferrari 250 GTO is the motoring market’s equivalent of Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ and a talisman for any top-end collection,” he said.

Plus, at local coffee shops, I'm one of few customers instead of one of many in a long line. Sometimes, I still end up at coffee chains — but my self-imposed ban means I'll opt for smaller ones like Blank Street or Gregory's Coffee instead of mega-global franchises. CNN —Ecuador may have a 46-year-old woman representing the small Andean nation in the Miss Universe beauty pageant later this year. Yajaira Quizhpi – who represents the Sierra region – is vying for the national title of Miss Universe Ecuador. The winner will go on to represent Ecuador at the Miss Universe competition in Mexico in September. Quizhpi is the oldest woman in the country’s history to participate in the contest organized by the Miss Universe franchise. In May, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA resigned within days of one another amid allegations of mismanagement, toxicity and conditions that impacted their mental health.

As for the event’s host country, the US had two restaurants on this year’s 50 Best list. Three restaurants from Tokyo were awarded, with eatery Sézanne (voted Asia’s best restaurant in 2024) ranking the highest in the Japanese capital, at 15. The dollar posted its first monthly decline of the year in May, weighed down by shifting expectations on when the U.S. central bank will cut rates and by how much. Traders are now pricing in about a 53% chance of a rate cut in September, versus about 49% before the report. The dollar index , which measures the U.S. currency against six rivals, was 0.067% lower at 104.51 on Monday. Sterling was 0.04% higher at $1.27475, while the euro last fetched $1.085325 ahead of the European Central Bank policy meeting on Thursday when the central bank is seen as almost certain to cut rates. The comments from ECB officials will be in focus for traders along with economic projections as they assess whether the central bank will provide further cuts after Thursday in the wake of data showing a rise in euro zone inflation in May.

Eilish’s “Lunch” is a brilliant reinvention of our freedom of queer expression, and it comes at a most desperate time. If only we tune into Eilish’s song and to its inherent humanity — carnal, raw, authentic — and recognize in it our own hidden desires that we should face with the same openness she does. What Eilish has achieved, though, with her latest album and particularly with the song, “Lunch,” is to raise the bar on the unabashed expression of queer and women’s sexual desire.
