The assailants were also killed in a subsequent battle with security teams and more than 20 people were injured in the attack. Its defense systems have been credited as key to Turkey gaining an upper hand in its fight against Kurdish militants. Meanwhile, police in Istanbul detained at least 35 people suspected of links to the PKK, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

Amazon Web Services is investing over $500 million in nuclear power, announcing three projects from Virginia to Washington State. Amazon is the latest large tech company to buy into nuclear power to fuel the growing demands from data centers. An estimated 70% of the world’s internet traffic travels through Data Center Alley each day. “Small modular nuclear reactors will play a critical role in positioning Virginia as a leading nuclear innovation hub,” said Virginia Gov. “Amazon and X-energy are poised to define the future of advanced nuclear energy in the commercial marketplace,” said X-energy CEO J. The S & P 500 continues to make new highs, and volatility continues to decline. First, the S & P 500 has logged just two absolute 1% moves since Sept. 19, which is nearly a month's worth of trading. In fact, 114 S & P 500 stocks made new 52-week highs on Tuesday, which was the first time we've had over 100 since 7/16/24. With the day's opening and close both being higher and lower than the prior session's, this created a bearish engulfing pattern. The bottom line is that the S & P 500 and dozens of its holdings have built up substantial cushions by strongly coming back from the August lows.
