One derivative play on Nvidia is a buying opportunity that can more than double from current prices, according to Benchmark. Analyst Mark Palmer initiated coverage of Bitdeer Technologies with a buy rating in a report out Thursday. That view is driven in part by a key partnership with Nvidia that will help Bitdeer expand into artificial intelligence. In November, Bitdeer announced it will be a preferred cloud service provider for Nvidia 's partner network. But Benchmark's $13 price target implies the stock could nearly double from Wednesday's closing price of $6.74 per share.

A Montana rancher was charged with illegally selling offspring from a cloned sheep across state lines. There's nothing illegal about selling sheep for exorbitant prices — unless those animals are Marco Polo argali sheep, or in Schubarth's case, hybrids of Marco Polo argali sheep. Marco Polo argali sheep are native to central Asia and are considered threatened under the US Endangered Species Act. Shortly thereafter, Schubarth allegedly got his hands on some of those sheep parts and, in 2015, paid a deposit of $4,200 to produce cloned sheep embryos from the dead argali's remains. AdvertisementIn May 2017, a pure argali sheep was born from one of those cloned embryos.

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday stood by his 2019 statement that writer E. Jean Carroll made a "totally false accusation" against him, despite similar claims resulting in him losing a defamation case in January. On top of the $83.3 million in damages is a $5 million sexual abuse and defamation verdict that Carroll won against Trump last year. Trump also shared his concerns about Lewis Kaplan, the federal judge who denied his request to delay the defamation judgment, calling him a "Trump-deranged, angry man." Originally designed before America's entry into the Second World War, the YB-49 flying wing was intended to be America's first intercontinental bomber. US Air ForceThe flying wingThe YB-49 was the final iteration of a flying wing bomber concept created by legendary aircraft designer Jack Northrop, founder of the Northrop Corporation. A larger test aircraft, the N-1M, was tested in July of 1940, proving the potential of the flying wing design. The problems with aerial instability could now be solved by computers utilizing fly-by-wire technology and differential thrust, and so a flying wing design was submitted. In order to maintain a powerful bomber force and to keep up with technological innovation, the Air Force launched the Long Range Strike Bomber program in 2011.

Donald J. Trump on Friday posted a $91.6 million bond in a defamation case he recently lost to the writer E. Jean Carroll, staving off a potential legal and financial disaster just days before a deadline to secure the deal. The bond, provided by an outside insurance company, will prevent Ms. Carroll from collecting the judgment while Mr. Trump appeals. A federal jury awarded Ms. Carroll $83.3 million in January, and Mr. Trump recently asked that the judgment be paused. The judge presiding over the case, Lewis A. Kaplan, denied Mr. Trump’s request for a preliminary reprieve, putting pressure on Mr. Trump to either come up with the money himself or secure the bond. With a Monday deadline looming, Mr. Trump posted the bond, which is higher than the $83.3 million judgment because the former president is also responsible for interest.

Read previewIt took a while for me to realize a common name was the best type of name for my son. On one hand, my son could stand out immediately like a rockstar — memorable, fun, free-spirited; on the other, he could seamlessly slot into society, a Daniel among Daniels. While unique names reflect a shift in our society toward a culture of individualism, they also have drawbacks that I was keen to avoid. And ironically, in a sea of unconventional names, Daniel stands out in an understated way. Firstly, my son has never been the only Daniel in school, so when someone calls his name, every Daniel within earshot turns around.

Read previewFormer President Donald Trump has posted a bond that will stop E. Jean Carroll from being able to collect $83.3 million from a defamation judgment against him. Trump agreed to the terms of the bond with the Federal Insurance Co. on Tuesday, according to documents filed in court Friday. Trump would have shopped around for the lowest premium, and there may have been more than one carrier competing for his business, Pedersen said. Mandatory costs and interest raise the bond by a standardized 111% above the original judgment in federal cases, Pedersen said. Trump has already put the $5 million in damages he owes in that case into a court-controlled account as he pursues appeals.

CNN —The clock is ticking for Donald Trump to pony up roughly half a billion dollars to satisfy two recent courtroom losses. An appeals court judge denied Trump’s emergency request to stay, or pause, the deadline. A panel of judges has now taken up the motion to delay posting bond until Trump appeals the verdict. The appeals court is expected to reach a decision by the end of March – roughly the same timing as the deadline. Trump offered to post a bond of $100 million but that was rejected by the appeals court judge.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a press conference after attending the E. Jean Carroll second civil trial in New York City on Jan. 17, 2024. Former President Donald Trump on Friday appealed a civil defamation verdict in favor of writer E. Jean Carroll, and posted a $91.6 million bond as he asked to avoid having to pay damages he owes her as he pursues that appeal. The $91.6 million bond he posted is meant to secure that damage award in the event his appeal of January's jury verdict fails. Trump will get the money from the bond back if he wins his appeal. Manhattan federal court Judge Lewis Kaplan, who is not related to Carroll's lawyer, on Thursday denied a request by Trump to delay paying the writer.

Her character was a chain-smoking alcoholic psychiatrist, but Bonham Carter hadn’t gone “method”; she had simply spritzed herself with a bespoke fragrance created specifically for her by fragrance designer Azzi Glasser. Now, a bespoke fragrance from Glasser can cost up to £15,000 ($19,000), though she also offers a lower-priced collection of fragrances to enable people to discover their own fragrance DNA. To play King Henry VIII in upcoming movie Firebrand, actor Jude Law told Azzi Glasser he wanted to smell exactly like the king would have, despite knowing it would be repulsive. “As actors know, fragrance can transform you and take you on a journey. It opens up passages and doors in the brain, working through the olfactory system to bring out emotions,” noted Glasser.

A New York judge on Thursday rejected a bid by Donald Trump to delay a $83.3 million civil defamation judgment in favor of writer E. Jean Carroll. Trump had asked Manhattan federal court Judge Lewis Kaplan to pause the latest Carroll case judgment until after he rules on post-trial motions. He later posted $5.6 million in cash as collateral while he appealed the jury verdict ordering him to pay her $5 million in that case. Trump last month was ordered by a state court judge to pay a $454 million judgment in a civil business fraud lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James. But that soon could change if an appeals court declines to stay the judgment.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — The trial and conviction of a movie armorer in connection with a fatal shooting on the set of the Western movie “Rust” has given Alec Baldwin and his legal team a unusual window into how his own trial in the death could unfold. Baldwin’s trial is scheduled for July and will involve the same judge and prosecutors as well as many of the same witnesses. But Gutierrez-Reed's trial included previously undisclosed testimony from eyewitnesses to the shooting. “Alec Baldwin’s conduct and his lack of gun safety inside that church on that day is something that he’s going to have to answer for," prosecutor Kari Morrissey said in her closing arguments against Gutierrez-Reed. The filming of “Rust” moved to Montana after the shooting in New Mexico, under an agreement with Hutchins' widower, Matthew Hutchins, that made him an executive producer.

Steph Kronos, a pro-Union activist, tries to talk to Starbucks customers as she joins Starbucks workers, former employees, and supporters in holding signs in support of a strike, outside of a Starbucks store in Arlington, Virginia, on November 16, 2023. A group of labor unions said on Tuesday it was ending its proxy fight at Starbucks, after the two sides agreed last week to work toward a "foundational framework" on collective bargaining. The group said it thought shareholders were "optimistic" about a "good faith" effort by Starbucks to "repair its relationship with its workers." It was the first time that a labor union — typically opposed to activist campaigns — had drawn on the activist toolkit. The SOC hired well-respected communications, legal and proxy advisors who have worked on behalf of major activists and hedge funds.
