Administration officials believe the U.S., the world's largest oil consumer and global economy have entered a more predictable, less volatile phase. This year, gasoline prices have stabilized at lower levels, U.S. oil production is approaching record highs and the job market, while still strong, is cooling down along with inflation, administration officials say. Oil prices slipped on Thursday as the prospect of a possible recession in the US offset concerns of tight supply. Slowing economy or not, the OPEC move could still complicate Biden's efforts to tame nagging inflation and dampen gasoline prices at home, according to multiple interviews with U.S. officials and analysts. Discussions with refiners about expanding capacity or limiting fuel exports have dried up since last summer, oil executives told Reuters.
COOLIDGE, Arizona – From engines to landing gear, the hunt is on for aircraft parts as airlines prepare their jets for swarms of summer travelers, with new planes from Boeing and Airbus still in short supply. The search for parts leads some aircraft owners here, where older, retired planes are stripped for parts that will be prepared to fly on other planes or repurposed altogether. The current demand for aircraft parts is the result of the industry's deep demand swings resulting from the Covid pandemic. With deliveries of new jets behind schedule, airlines are holding onto planes longer, repairing or overhauling them, adding to demand for parts and labor. CHIANG MAI, Thailand, April 10 (Reuters) - High pollution levels in Thailand's northern city of Chiang Mai and surrounding provinces are keeping tourists away and alarming locals, with the government on Monday urging residents to avoid outdoor activities. For several weeks last month the city was at the top of air quality information platform IQAir's global chart on poor air quality, ahead of Lahore and New Delhi. That is far short of the 80% to 90% expected ahead of this week's Thai New Year holidays, known as Songkran. Addressing the deteriorating air quality in the north, Thailand's health ministry urged the public on Monday to avoid outdoor activities and wear masks that can filter particles. Chiang Mai resident Pathsharasakon Po, 36, said she was concerned about allergies, or even cancer.

Russia and Belarus are formally part of a Union State, a borderless union and alliance between the two former Soviet republics.

Work from home has in part jacked up food prices, and the increase is about 14% above just last year. The only bank that looks like Silicon Valley Bank is First Republic Bank (FRC) because it, too, has suffered huge deposit withdrawals. Nike (NKE)said China orders were good, so did Club stock Starbucks (SBUX). As counterintuitive as it is, the banking row will give the 4.8% fed funds rate a chance to cool consumer spending. This gives stocks a window to advance until we begin earnings season with what will no doubt be a cautious banking sector.
During its fourth-quarter report last month, Rocket Lab said it had begun producing the first tank structures of Neutron, as well as construction of the launch pad for the rocket. That means Neutron is targeting a "$50 million to $55 million launch service cost," Spice said. "We don't have any hard data on that but certainly, if that was to happen, that'd be an incredibly bullish thing for Neutron," Spice said. More than rocketsSpice also emphasized to the Bank of America audience that Rocket Lab is "much more than" just a rocket company. As CEO Peter Beck has previously noted, Rocket Lab aims to create an "end-to-end platform for customers" who need space-based services.
House Democrats this month said Trump failed to report over 100 gifts from foreign leaders. Listed among the gifts that were missing was a large portrait of Trump from El Salvador's president. He said he had seen the painting in October while attending a golf tournament at the Trump National Doral hotel in Miami, Florida. The Trump National Doral hotel and Trump's post-presidency office did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment. The report from House Democrats said, "the Trump Administration's failure to disclose more than one hundred foreign gifts President Trump and his family received raises new questions about whether these and other gifts may have been used by foreign governments to influence US policy under President Trump."
The moment of the anomaly during the New Shepard cargo mission NS-23, in which the booster's engine failed. The company's New Shepard rocket, flying the NS-23 mission carrying science and research payloads, suffered a failure in September 2022. No people were onboard, and Blue Origin says its capsule's emergency escape system functioned properly, but the rocket's reusable booster was destroyed. "Blue Origin expects to return to flight soon, with a re-flight of the NS-23 payloads," the company said. The New Shepard rocket booster is reusable, returning to land on a concrete pad near the launch site.
CNN —Startup Relativity Space sent what it’s calling the “world’s first 3D-printed rocket” toward space on Wednesday, vaulting it into the upper reaches of the atmosphere. Relativity Space's Terran 1 rocket is seen during its third launch attempt of a mission called "GLHF" (Good Luck, Have Fun), from Launch Complex 16 in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on March 22, 2023. The company said computers automatically aborted the launch attempt because of a detected software issue. Still, the Terran 1 rocket that failed its first launch attempt on Wednesday may not end up being the company’s showcase product. But those deals are “overwhelmingly for our larger reusable rocket Terran R,” Ellis noted.

Angela McArdle, chair of the Libertarian Party, slammed Exotic's campaign in an interview with TMZ on March 19. Exotic, McArdle, and Meester did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment outside regular business hours.
The guild is heading to the Sherman Oaks bargaining table seeking higher compensation for writers, a boost in contributions to pension and health funds, and better workplace standards. Most notably, the guild wants to factor in the streaming economy into compensation packages for its members. Residual fees — or money paid when a film or series is rerun or aired on broadcast — has helped pad the wallets of writers for years. But those fees are vanishing in the streaming era, which is where a great deal of projects ultimately land these days. The guild has advised members that the initial round of talks will last two weeks.
Justice is a longtime entertainment lawyer and spent decades representing an array of clients ranging from male and female executives to talent like rapper Jay-Z. When she expressed how much her female clients were looking to get paid, she says, "I got ridiculous pushback." Here are some of the excuses she heard most often for why her women clients didn't get offered what their male peers did. It was assumed, by contrast, that single men would one day need to support their families. When Justice asked for a salary comparable to the client's male counterparts, the in-house counsel she was negotiating opposite "laughed at me," she says.
Vicki Tung, the firm's head of recruiting, shares her tips for candidates to put their best foot forward. Goldman Sachs opened applications for its summer 2024 internships Wednesday, including for its prestigious investment banking analyst program. If candidates pass an initial resume screening, they'll be invited to do a HireVue interview, Tung said. The example she gave is when candidates list multiple accomplishments or experiences they participated in for a very short time. Interviews are mostly made up of "situational behavioral" questions, Tung said, where ethics are embedded into the prompts.

"But if it gets noticed, the flight attendant will have to speak with their manager." This made me realize that there's so much we don't notice, or even know, when it comes to the job of a flight attendant. Flight attendants sometimes live together in crash padsFor some flight attendants, always being on the go doesn't warrant wanting to pay rent at an apartment that you'll hardly use. Williams said there's such a thing as flight attendant crash pads, where you split rent with a group of other flight attendants near the airport. You can't become a flight attendant overnightUnlike some jobs where you can submit your resume, go through minimal training, and start immediately, being a flight attendant requires a decent amount of training.
