Google has suspended live traffic updates in Israel and Gaza amid the war. Google Maps also suspended live traffic updates in Ukraine in 2022 amid Russia's invasion. It turned off live traffic updates in Ukraine, reportedly because the apps were being used to track military movements. Google Maps' live traffic updates work by getting data from smartphones that have the app installed. Those in the area will still be able to use Google Maps and Waze to help with navigation.

Experts warn that boreout is "just as problematic" as burnout and can lead to quiet quitting. "Boreout is basically often the opposite extreme of burnout, but also can be just as problematic in terms of our work experience," Brodsky said in an interview with Insider. Boreout, when left untreated, can lead workers down the path to quiet quitting and disengagement. Monitoring employees leads to 'busyness theater'Some companies are keeping a closer eye on employees by using technology that monitors how much they're working. Dorie Clark, a leadership expert and former presidential campaign spokesperson, says lots of people are just looking at busyness the wrong way. When asked why they feel so overworked, most people cite external causes, like those incessant emails or constant Zoom calls. In a May TED Talk, Clark argued those are merely manifestations of busyness — not necessarily the root causes. Avoiding uncertaintyHuman brains are notoriously averse to ambiguity, and many of us use busywork as a way to avoid uncertainty, Clark said. And so we become busy ... so that we don't even have to ask the question," Clark said.
