StoreDot a înlocuit grafitul folosit drept conductor în bateriile litiu-ioni cu nanoparticule semiconductoare prin care ionii trec mai ușor și mai rapid în timpul încărcării pentru a nu provoca un scurtcircuit al bateriei. Anul trecut, inginerii Universității din Pennsylvania au dezvoltat un tip de baterie asemănător, care poate încărca o mașină electrică în 10 minute și oferă o autonomie suplimentară de până la 320 de kilometri, potrivit UPI.com.
