☆ After fourth straight win, are Ravens back to being Super Bowl contenders?

Daniels, the Commanders’ rookie sensation, threw for 269 yards with two touchdowns and no turnovers Sunday, continuing one of the most prolific starts to a career by a rookie quarterback in history. But in the present, it was Jackson, aided by running back Derrick Henry, who had enough to win one of the season’s most anticipated games, 30-23. Jackson threw for 323 yards with one touchdown and one interception, with nearly half his completions going to Zay Flowers (nine catches, 132 yards). Henry added 132 yards and two touchdowns rushing to help Baltimore improve to 4-2, with four consecutive victories. The Commanders’ defense has been one of the league’s worst, and allowing Baltimore 14 points in the second quarter and 10 more in the third pushed the Ravens’ lead to as high as 27-13 entering the fourth quarter.

Are we living through another Lamar Jackson MVP season? The Bears defense has also been phenomenal and will keep them in games even when Williams will inevitably struggle, as all rookies do. Full disclosure: One of my bold predictions entering the season was that Rattler would wind up taking Derek Carr’s job this season. The bigger concern is the Saints’ defense, which surrendered 600 yards and 50 points and allowed the Bucs to convert 6 of 10 third downs. It doesn’t matter who plays quarterback — the Saints defense has to put up some resistance.

Quarterbacks Jayden Daniels versus Lamar Jackson should be pure fireworks, but it's far from the only intriguing matchup this weekend. Henry has scored in all five games this season while rushing for a league-high 572 yards. Considering down and distance, Henry has rushed for 229 yards more than expected, according to advanced NFL stats. Kirk Cousins, meanwhile, is fifth in passing yards per game despite a slow start for Atlanta’s offense. The Lions are conceding 349.0 yards per game, 11th-worst in the NFL.

Nguyen: With Aaron Rodgers’ age and their defense, the Jets have a small window to make some noise. In theory, Adams would also add some much-needed explosiveness to a Jets offense that entered this week ranked 29th in the NFL in total yards and 27th in points. The Bills’ defense also suffered losses in free agency, and holes went unfilled even though Buffalo’s top competitors in the AFC include elite offenses in Kansas City, Baltimore and Cincinnati. Watson isn’t just not playing well, he’s playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. Maybe improved offensive production would help ease pressure on the Browns’ defense.

CNN —Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been “smiling with his teammates” and taking things “day by day” as he recovers from his latest concussion, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel comforts Tagovailoa after the quarterback's latest concussion. CNN contacted Tagovailoa’s representatives about the report but did not hear back, while the Dolphins declined to comment. “I think it’s of utmost priority of mind for Tua to speak on Tua’s career,” said McDaniel. After guiding the Dolphins to the playoffs last season, Tagovailoa agreed to a four-year contract extension in the offseason, reportedly worth $212.4 million.

Rodgers completed 13 of 21 passes for 167 yards, a touchdown and an interception, and the Jets managed just 68 rushing yards. Stroud, the best quarterback from last year’s draft class, and Chicago’s Caleb Williams, the first pick of this year’s draft. Stroud continued to impress in Week 1, throwing for 234 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. After the game, Williams vowed, “I will be better.” Excelling against a talented Texans defense, however, could prove challenging.

The Saints, one week after blowing out the lowly Carolina Panthers, did the same in Dallas to the high-flying Cowboys. The Ravens aren’t built to win when their defense softens — but that isn’t to say they won’t find ways to play the kind of defense the Ravens are known for. Meanwhile, the Saints’ defense denied the Cowboys on all three trips inside the red zone and recorded two takeaways. He made some strong in-structure throws, including a beauty to Noah Brown in the middle of the field late in the game to win the game.
